Bit confused by the media framing on the new Yunxian paper. No where is it stated that H. sapiens (as a species) is older than we thought, but rather “The origin of the sapiens clade is estimated to be about 1.02 Ma.” A clade with an origin 1 Ma is much different than a species with an origin 1 Ma

A PhD is about how to rigorously examine and interrogate information, not transmit it. To reduce a PhD to a mere disseminator of information misunderstands what we are.
