The UK absolutely needs to join the EU Customs Union. Trump cannot be trusted and it's a mistake to even try to appease him when there's no economic benefit anyway.

If we were serious as a country we would take on the challenge of EVs and look to invest in becoming a world leader, building EVs and developing new tech at home. I guess not though - the Tories would rather leave that to China.

I studied for a Level 7 Degree Apprenticeship because I couldn't afford to take on a full time MSc. But now Government changes are removing Level 7 Apprenticeship funding for those aged over 21 - penalizing especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

(1/10) 🚨Preprint alert!🚨 In this article, I challenge claims of a generational rise of conservative men. In the media and recent academic publications, the so-called ‘youth gender gap’ has been interpreted as a generational phenomenon.

Adding to the Swift discourse. I listened to the album a couple of times, but each time it just went in one ear and out the other. I could barely pay attention to the music or lyrics - it was boring. It's also become quite hard to tell many of her recent works apart, sonically and lyrically.

It's astounding how, just as Nigel Farage was getting bad media about paracetamol, the Government distracts from it with a debate about pointless ID cards. It's as if Labour wants Reform to win the next election.

The polarisation of immigration goes both ways. The Lib Dems want to stop the boats because seeing people dying in the channel is barbaric. They also want to clear the backlog because asylum seekers being in limbo, living for months in hotels, is horrible. The difference is what their solution is!

Potentially putting Afghan asylum seekers who worked with the British armed forces into concentration camps and then paying the Taliban to accept them back Afghanistan so that they can execute them should be a greater cause for alarm than it appears to be.

Netanyahu’s plan to occupy Gaza is abhorrent and it's increasingly clear that his goal is ethnic cleansing. The UK can't just sit on its hands. The Prime Minister must stop all arms exports to Israel and sanction Netanyahu and his cabinet.

The pharmaceutical industry is on its knees right now, with revenue down across the board and R&D spending cuts coming through. Many British jobs are affected. The UK Government needs to step up where the US is walking away, and secure British jobs and growth.

Personally I don't think that it's credible to claim that the Prime Minister and his advisor/chief of staff are not responsible for policy. It also feels insanely sexist that this government is blaming every unpopular decision that it makes on its front bench women.

I really, really dislike how much of the hate is directed at Reeves when clearly the problem is Starmer. Her job is to balance the books. His is to set the constraints in which she must balance them. It's not her fault he can't do it. And it feels very, very gendered.
