Couldn’t possibly waste this sunshine/blue sky….went for a gentle stroll and took myself for a nice cheese scone/chutney and pot of tea🥰 Nice way to kick off my weekend (after a morning spent doing necessary chores 😏) Wonderful to be able to have the windows open at home to air my house a bit too 🙂

So sad that Martin Carthy has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. It’s a devastating, cruel illness to live /deal with. Thank goodness he has loving family/friends around him. I feel very privileged to have met him many times- always looks dapper, always smiling, chatty and up for a hug - bless him x

Not only is it Friday (🙌) but after today I have, at last, a whole 2 weeks off 🙌 To say it’s needed is truly an understatement. Bring it on. Lots of adventures (and rest!) incoming 🥰

Loving Mark Radcliffe’s folk show on Radio 2 at mo - A Scot-Gaelic special. Celtic Connections music festival in Glasgow is happening now- held over 18 days, 300 events, 25 venues and over 1200 artists. A week tonight we’ll be at one of the gigs- one of our wish list experiences ♥️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.

You know you’ve had a good morning when you attend a fab folky session, enjoy wonderful music and then sit and have lunch and a long, lovely chat with the musicians ♥️

Today at a local community project, two members of Sheffield based folk group Mishra are doing a daytime session.(Saw them last year) Going along by myself. Aside from the music - tea/sandwiches/cake are included (for a fiver!) After that I have a ☕️ date with a friend then have to go to work.

A proper pea-souper here this morning

Nice few hours at the start of the FolkLincs new term. Bodhran class first this morning followed by Trad/FolkSong this afternoon - as it’s traditionally apple wassail time we started with a jolly wassail song. I particularly liked the second song we learned tho’ - the Green Man one ♥️

A very murky, drizzly morning here but reasonably mild.

One of the best things about a Friday night 😉😊 ( as well as a glass of something 🍷)

Air fryer sweet potato and cheese frittata - so easy and delish 😋

Phew. Fridays for me are always busy but today I feel like I’ve crammed a weeks’ work into a morning 😂 Run ragged 😖 Have an appointment shortly then I’m going to need a bit of a rest methinks 😊

Busy week so has flown by. Happy that it’s Friday.. chilly morning but no ice 😁

This afternoon is so much more pleasant than yesterday afternoon 😂 Complimentary mocha, natter and a haircut 🥰 🙌

Today’s word for me is “traipse” Traipsed to work and back this morning. Traipsed to and from hospital (over the Humber bridge) this afternoon for a MRI scan. All had to be done though 😏 Glad to be now back home. Need food and feet up. Been on the go since 6am so am totally knackered 😂 Phew!

Nice pre sunrise. After the wet day yesterday and freezing overnight temperatures- surfaces are dodgy. Made it (tentatively) to the park #nervouswreck

Ugh! These dark mornings.. 🫩 No ice though - thank heavens 😁

Looking forward, as always, to listening in to Tim Walker’s Folk on BBC Radio Lincolnshire this evening. One of his guests is the fab Sam Carter! Saw Sam with The Magpie Arc and have tickets for his solo gig in Lincoln in March.We also chatted with him in Dungworth at the Sunday carols before Xmas.

2 weeks and counting… can’t wait for that pure mountain air, relaxation, adventures, cosy hotel, delicious food, landscapes, wildlife and good company ♥️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Braved the elements and went for a steady walk. A walk is always energising even if you have to motivate yourself to do it 😁 Blown off my feet and a bit damp but enjoyed the leg stretch/some fresh air and was well wrapped up.

The pencils have been out again during my much needed bit of weekend hibernation 😁 The mouse was inspired by the cute, wooden Christmas mouse I bought ♥️ I also had a go at sketching a Hare just because they’re one of my favourite mammals. ♥️

It is indeed a grim one here this morning. Blowing a gale and chucking it down. Cold too. Maybe some improvement in the weather later. Hope so :-)
