Bit of a soggy morning here in North Lincs ☔️ But it is Friday. And after today I have 10 days off-woohoo! ♥️ Been a long time coming and beyond ready for it 🙌

Lively, jolly evening of songs and tunes at the beautiful NCEM in York with Dervish last night. Nearly 200 people singing along to the chorus of “Galway Shawl” in that setting was a highlight 🎶♥️

Had a wonderful, uplifting evening of singing, laughing and chatting over in Hull for Pete Morton’s “ Sailor Swift” show last night. In an ordinary house, in an ordinary street, in the host’s cosy front room! Probably the most unusual but highly enjoyable venue ever 😁

Was ready for a drink and this view just now after a couple of busy days. Day off tomorrow (in lieu of BH Monday)…..nice thought :-)

Two fab back to back folkie evenings coming up. Tonight is a house concert and tomorrow we’re at one of our fave venues in York, the beautiful NCEM 🥰🤩

The tomato plants I’ve grown from seed (on a windowsill -first in starter pots then in larger) are now in their final pots. Shall acclimatise them over this next week then they can go out permanently. Also my own fertiliser made from nettles has been strained/decanted. Disgusting smell ha! 🤢😷

Blissfully peaceful this morning..quiet roads, no one around. The Horse Chestnut blooms surrounding me in the park are really coming into their own now 🌳 Dull and a bit chilly but the forecast is brighter for later. Hopefully will be able to enjoy that this afternoon. Work to do first.

Beltane crown (hawthorn and cherry blossom) and wish ribbons done. Just need to prepare a fire element (candles/flowers/herbs etc) for later.

A couple of years ago I was incapacitated after an op and couldn’t get out to source flowers etc for a Beltane crown. My daughter surprised me with this 💞 The fresh flowers are long gone of course but I still have the base. I’ll be making a crown later to wear at sunrise tomorrow 🥰 #beltaneeve

What a wonderful morning. Sun through the trees, the songs of birds and the heady scent of Hawthorn blossom in the air. Gorgeous indeed 🥰

Song Thrushes often use an “anvil” such as a rock/stone to break a snail’s shell to get to the soft bits 😁 This one (see it regularly in the same area) obviously decided the footpath would suffice. Going by the amount of shells littering the path, it appears to have had a productive day so far 😁 🥰

Home sweet home ♥️ Had a lovely time with some beautiful people 🥰 Today has been a long, very tiring day of travelling but I am happy that I did it😁 Will be back in Sheffield at the end of May so I am looking forward to that😁

Knew it was all going too smoothly 😂…train delayed by 20 mins then platform change with 5 mins to go. But all good now 😮‍💨 The challenges of travelling eh? Ha! 🫠

Lovely evening of music last night with M G Boulter ( and Harriet Bradshaw).And nice cake/wine as per. Seemed strange to be there on my own but Ann and I are back at Cafe9 soon :-) Making my way home from Sheffield today ( with some holiday shopping thrown in 😂)

Having a wonderful afternoon with my lovely friend @kathybarnes.bsky.social … we have had a sunny walk in the Loxley valley and tea/pastries in her garden. We only usually manage short catch ups at gigs so it’s so nice to be having some proper quality time together ♥️

What joy! My first returning Swallow of the year! 🥰 I get a bit 🥹 when I see my first one as, for as long as i can remember, my first Swallow is a marker for me. It means I have had the privilege of living (and surviving) another year. It appeared just as the setting sun made the trees here golden

Heading back to my hometown of Sheffield tomorrow morning on a #soloweekender trip,primarily for a gig. Doing it by train (easy) and tram (good job I like a challenge!) Happy that I have been invited out for tea tomorrow afternoon too. Looking forward to it all and to catching up with folky folk 😊
