I had a nice working AI system that would run into walls, teleport when stuck, and crash into other NPCs. Then I switched to A*, and now I have a nice working AI system that zigzags a straight line 🙃

Many times I want to jump ship and go on the game industry. However releasing my own title feels so much more fulfilling and potentially a better transition then an industry job.

I dont understand how most people can say "I just want to retire and not do anything". I find Joy in what I want to do, and wouldn't ever want to stop in retirement. I think it relates to having purpose, and I think thats way more important.

I really enjoy using Opsives UCC, as it gives me a pre-made character AI I can use and modify. Once in a while though, I do find conflicts I need to tweak to fit my own needs. like the UseCompleteEvent. #gameDev #gameDevThings 1 / 2🧵

I wasn't sure how I felt about Thick as Thieves, until I started watching the DroppedFrames talk show with Warren Spector, and honestly, the idea sounds so innovative and new, its exciting! I'm excited to see how the idea evolves later in release.

I've been making daily journal notes for myself for nearly a month now, and honestly it's been amazing. It helps me write down my thoughts, explore issues and resolutions I've done before, and I feel I don't have to remember everything either, making my days feel a bit easier. Def encourage this.

Silly Game Dev Issue 😒 I have an NPC that projects poison as a cast Ability. For some reason, it just stopped working one day. I take a look today, and spend hours trying to debug it. turns out, the particle effect was spawning inside the collider, colliding with itself. 🙃🙃
