I’ve worked in IT for years and I’ve been in data centres. They’ve been around since the beginning— “server farms”, etc. What’s happened is we now have data sprawl and have lost efficient ways to perform computational power to meet demand without the excessive heat and energy demands. 1/3

It really is much more fundamental beyond religion, politics, or race. Parading an effigy around of anyone hanging from a noose for any reason is not an appropriate act. Especially given the awful history of lynching/hanging being so visceral with people of colour and indigenous peoples.
