Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Dragged my family to see the NJ visiting barnacle goose on the way home from Atlantic City. Didn't get the best of looks but I'll take it! Makes 58 birds in NJ through 2 days including 10 new to my NJ life list. Goal is to get 280 species in the state this year.

Finished 2025 with 289 ABA birds for the year and 304 on my life list. Essentially started #birding June 5, so super happy with where I landed. Going to try and get 270 species in NJ in 2026 and not get fired or have my family disown me. Wish me good luck!

NJ is an under appreciated state. I birded a new spot Losen Slote Creek Park in Bergen County. It's in the middle of suburban sprawl yet completely isolated from it all. Hugs the salt marshes of the meadowlands, saw 25 species in late December walking my dog. 216 species all time there. #birding

My first #ebird list was in June. Focused on my county to start and birding on trips when I could find some time. Just went back and cleaned up some early IDs that were a bit overzealous. Removed 4 from my county list, but still got to 207. Hit 286 in the lower 48. #birding

So I've been cultivating a community of birds at my feeder. Been fun, then today this monster shows up, take a mourning dove and then hides in the bushes. Been quiet since. #birding #birdphotography

My bridge camera can be frustrating at times but I would never have seen this rough legged hawk without the zoom on the #nikonp1100. Terrible photo but definitive bird ID at 500+ yards. I'll take it. #birding
