Full production test last night. 4 feet of 2”x12”, six bowl pattern, and a need to time my cuts to the time available. Anyway, cats.

I finally swallowed my fears and fired up the CNC router this weekend. And in the end? Easier than I could have ever dreamed. We’re in the dough bowl candle business this year!

Boys and reds are glued up! Greens and teals getting dyed dye work tomorrow night. Wednesday is a blood donation, but I’ll finish all 20 quilts this week, then on to wooden dough bowls for candles!

Been working in the shop. Covered Bridge is less than two months out, but I’m way ahead on inventory at this point. Gotta keep rolling it out, though. Quilts, pumpkins, candy corn, wall-sized scrabble boards, and wood bowls.

Scrap wood project number two: candy corn. I upgraded my patterns to acrylic and used them as a cutout and shaping guide. Spend up the process immensely.

Twaining Day.

Finished a camper sink cover this week. Fits perfectly. 16”x24”, finished in butcher block oil, so it can be turned over and used as a cutting board.

Odd day. Started with a new light install in the kitchen. Then on the the garden to prep beds for planting tomorrow. Then we put a flag pole for dad’s 75th birthday weekend. Then I went fishing?? Super off-brand for me. Leisure time is a luxury around here, but it felt good to wet a line!

Round the outside, round the outside. We’ve turned the corner now. South run is going in. On piece tomorrow, then on to the backsplash rail. Sanding and finishing by Sunday night!

Came up with an inventive solution to hold the flush trim in place. Ran some rabbits in a 2x4 and screwed it to the wall (where the backsplash will cover any holes) and now I can clamp to the wall!

The sink cutout has now become a serving tray. Handles are leftover from the cabinets. So it’s a perfect tie-in for our kitchen. I love it when it all comes together like this. Almost like I planned it… …I didn’t 😂

85% done. Not bad for a weekend. Still have to finish the trim and a few odds and ends. My favorite part is the blender book. Nice and tucked away now.
