He used his napkin to wipe his moth too, then forked a meatball into his mouth. He took a minute to chew and swallow before speaking. “So, do vehicles still use wheels? Or is everything like an extreme gear now?”

He picked himself up a huge spool of spaghetti on his fork, somehow managing to get the whole thing into his mouth. He’s really hungry… He swallowed and nodded. “This is really good Amy, thank you.”

“What? Oh, no no! We’re not playing at all right now. We said we wouldn’t until they’re all 100%.” He hugged her back, resting his head on top of hers. “I’m sure you’re perfectly fine on drums, don’t doubt yourself.”

“It has! I’m good! No we haven’t done any shows lately. A few of the band members are out sick for a while so we’re on a brief break while they get better.” He smiles as she burned through her energy, laughing with her as she did so. “What has you so excited?”

WHOAAH, what’s with her today? She’s awfully energetic for a Thursday afternoon! She’s lucky he can react so fast, or he wouldn’t have caught her.

“Very nice to meet you!” He smiles at the rabbit. “Amy and I were just talking about the..technology!” He’s unsure if he should mention that he’s not from here..

He popped a meaty into his mouth, musing over the time difference for a second before gazing over at the pair that walked in. “Oh, hello!” It’s not too different from his time, but it’s a little startling how much just a decade can make in appearance alone.

“That I’ve read so far? Probably the Percy Jackson series. Oddly enough, I can relate a bit to the gods in those books.” And also the parts about the burden of responsibility and destiny and all that jazz. “What about you?”

“That’s fine! After I eat and rest a bit, I should be okay to get home anyways.” He picked up the fork and began digging into his food. “I’ve been meaning to ask..what year is it here?” Earlier she said it more futuristic, but how futuristic?

“There isn’t much he could do if he tried anyways. Universe hopping takes a lot, too much to make any meaningful attack afterwards.” He doesn’t like screen too much. He prefers paper. Miss him with that E-book stuff.

“So you made..spaghetti and meatballs?” He looks down at his plate, surprised. He thought it was just gonna be a regular bowl of noodles! “You..thank you.”

He decided to look around the room a bit, taking in the environment. Even if she hadn’t told him they weren’t in his universe, he may have been able to sus it out on his own anyways. Everything here just looks and feels different. Aside from all the futuristic stuff of course.

“Yes. No….little bit.” He sat up a bit when she sat next to him. “Not much honestly. After we split I went home, at a little bit and read a few chapters of my current book. Quiet evening pretty much. What about you?” He turned to look at her.

“Ain’t hard to tell. Open a dictionary, flip to mortician and there you are. Right underneath the definition.” Noting the deliberate slowness…

“…yeah that makes sense.” He looked her up and down, sensing a vibe. “A doctor for the dead? I’d be surprised if you were anything else.”

“They don’t understand that fun is subjective and hesitate to make their own.” He pulled his hand back finally. “It’s…not easy, I can tell you that.”

“Exactly! They just don’t get how someone can be so passionate about something. Most people can’t wrap their head around it.” He chuckles, alotting a few more headpats.

“That’d be nice..” he smiled, patting her head. “Don’t be so nervous. You’re enthusiastic about what you like, that’s good.” Couple thousand years of life, you pick up wisdom like that. Even it’s simple.

“Okay, sure. That sounds cool!” He needs to re-up on books. And coffee. “You can show me your virtual pets when we hang out with DB sometime.” At least she’s enthusiastic. Damn he feels old…

“Uhh..I usually like to read or go out to places. Like, to eat and stuff.” He’s not well versed in technology. He can barely work his phone and only uses the tv for news and the movie channels. In fact most of his tech skills are with his music equipment.

“What’re you, a doctor?” He pressed his nose shut and blew through it, popping his ears. “Ahhhuuugh..” he pulled out a pack of tissues, wiping his nose.

His ears perked up at her voice. He sat up, yawning a bit as he turned to look at her. “No, no it wasn’t long. Just got here a bit ago. Still got time to wait anyways. Bout…fifteen minutes?” He looked at the door of the bar behind them, squint the time sheet posted to the window. “…ehh yeah.”

Charlie kinda just…stood there. He’s not super socially inclined. He’s not sure where to sit, so he just stood idle. He patted some dirt off his jeans, checked his shoes. He could soon smell the food and his stomach started growling even more. And..what’s a gemerl?

“Yeha I did but- what the hell is a gambling king?”

“A huh??”

“Oh, that could be fun! I think we’d have a great time!” He smiled, placing his hands on his hips. It might be a little strange, hanging out with technically two of the same person, but it could be fun.

“DB…I think so? I believe we had a brief interaction at some point…” Scratching his head, trying to remember what exactly they talked about. “It was a small one so, yes we’ve met briefly.”

“Queen is really good, Lana Del Ray too. Not really a fan of benson boone though.” He put his hand to his chin in thought. “I’m more in favor of stuff like Twenty One Pilots and Linkin Park.”

“..so…uh, yeah music. We usually do a few genres, usually stuff like Nu Metal and Midwest Emo. Sometimes though we do pop, just to mix it up.” He looked down and away a bit as he explained.

He stayed in her embrace for a good bit, but eventually he did pull away gently, patting her head in appreciation. “I won’t admit how much I needed that.” He cleared his throat, scratches back of his head.
