Credits on Hades 2! I started over with the 1.0 release and got through it in 39 nights. My thoughts from my early access review largely hold up: It's an incredible sequel that does a wonderful job of reimagining the gameplay loop established in the first game and expanding upon it in exciting ways.

Hades 2, like the first one, is such a funny game because you'll get to a boss for the first time and be like "what the fuck, this is nonsense how am I supposed to beat this?" and then three runs later you'll beat it without even using a single death defiance.

Damn, Prometheus is kinda a jerk in Hades 2. Stop stealing my death defies.

Credits on Borderlands 4, and I think that's probably gonna do it for me. Definitely an improvement over 3, doesn't quite reach the heights of 2 in terms of the overall package though. So much of my enjoyment in the series is dependant on what guns I have

Just did some 2XKO duos with my best friend who doesn't play fighting games and it was a lot of fun! Got him on a basic Blitzcrank gameplan of either grab > command throw or grab > mash pulse combo, and to use his assist at the end of my block string so i can keep up my pressure

Finally hit act 3 in Silksong. DAMN this game is so cool

Dan is one of the GOATs of this industry. I truly don’t think I would be where I currently am at in my career if he didn’t see something in my writing early on in my time at IGN. He helped me hone my craft with his edits, his pointed questions, and his encouragement to dig deeper in my critiques.

I wrote 3,400 words about Silksong and did not once use the words "soulslike," "Dark Souls," or "metroidvania." If that isn't worth a read, I don't know what is.

The person who posted that reddit post about Silent Hill F is in enough trouble and no doubt has enough embarrassment, so i'll just leave this as a general PSA for anyone new or inexperienced in this field: Getting games early is exciting, I get it, doubly when its in a series you love.

I think my only complaint with Silksong is how stingy they are with Rosary Beads. Like damn man, how you gonna make all of these benches cost 60 rosaries but then only make certain enemies in certain areas drop like 5 at a time. It drives me to farming and i hateeee farming

One of the really interesting things about Silksong's enemy and boss design is that they make this really scary guy chunk 2 health masks off you every time he hits, so you think "oh I gotta stay away from him," but actually the real strat is to keep super close to him.

There's something about both Hollow Knight and Silksong, but I get goosebumps every time I enter a new area. I think its just a combination of the music, atmosphere, and just the overall vibes.

I am thrilled that Guilty Gear Strive has a ranked system. It, along with Lucy, has reinvigorated my love for the game. But I am begging them to chill out with matching me with the same person repeatedly immediately after a set. I'm not in ranked for long sets, I wanna get a spread of matchups.

As someone who never played nor really saw Kirby’s Air Ride on GameCube, this direct sold me. I’m all in on this game. That looked sick as hell.

I did a lot at Evo. All of this on top of competing in 3 games. Im tired, but I think it's important work, and I'd like to help try and improve the coverage of the FGC in games media. I'm in a unique position with resources that others don't have access to through IGN, and I take that seriously.

Evo was a good reminder that Fatal Fury is sick and it is tragic that more people don't play it.

Im out at Evo. Another year, another one match away from getting out of pools. This time in both Fatal Fury and Street Fighter. Went 1-2 (2-2 if you count a DQ) in Strive, womp womp. That’s what I get for entering a game I haven’t played in almost a year.

Fighting games are pain, suffering, anguish, and all that other stuff that makes you want to destroy the nearest breakable object in your room. But then you bait someone into level 3'ing with tech that you learned in a YT video and all of a sudden they're the greatest thing in the world.
