10/30/2025 Over the Garden Wall My favorite time of the year. Each yearly rewatch lets me discover a new fact to love. AND THAT’S A ROCK FACT. This time around watching brilliant autumn colors slowly dull to winter’s monochrome made my heart heavy, but comfortable. 10/10. Every year.

10/6/2025 THE OMEN (1976) This is a 70s ass movie holy hell. Some of the funniest haircuts on display at the time. I loved slowly uncovering the mystery with the protags. Maybe it’s the version I watched but the audio was fucked up. Dogs barking hit like 120 decibels. 6.5/10.

10/5/25 BRING HER BACK Emotionally and viscerally brutal. This is an incredible movie I never want to watch again. There is so much and so many varieties of pain in this movie I found myself squirming in my seat for so many reasons. I wish I hadn’t watched it. 9.5/10

10/4 GINGER SNAPS What seemed like would be a trashy teen horror movie turned out to be a tightly written, well paced, and surprisingly heartfelt ride. Emily Perkins and Katharine Isabelle absolutely crushed their performances. It also has the most Canadian “sorry”s I ever heard. 9/10.

10/3 V/H/S HALLOWEEN Despite a strong entry into the franchise with last year’s Beyond, VHS Halloween has gone back to its (bland) roots. With the single worst piece of anthology horror I’ve seen (Fun Size), a strong finishing segment can’t carry the weight of mediocrity enough. 2/10
