Just finished the #LindenMacIntyre book ‘An Accidental Villian’. A great read about the wrong man for the job.

Previously I’ve posted pictures of books that I have bought but haven’t read yet. Yet when I attend writing Festivals authors are always telling the crowd to post a review of the book to help with sales. So that’s what I’m going starting in 2026. I’m not a reviewer, just a guy who likes to read.

Hal Wake loved books and was one of the easiest people to work with on Granville Island. He would come down to our office, find a chair, chat, and made the crew feel like good friends. When I told him my wife wanted to be a writer he said ‘Good, Canada needs more’ I will miss him @writersfest.bc.ca

Rehearsals are underway for ‘Moon Over Buffalo’ in New West at the Bernie Legge Theatre. Comedy abounds and some of is from the script!

Just spent the last 6 days in Victoria and this hotel that has the bedroom up a set of stairs. And for the first 3 nights between 2:30 and 3:30am we both heard footsteps coming up the stairs. No one appeared at the top but the full trip up was made.

Why am I always trying to catch up on books I’ve bought but haven’t read yet? Well Christmas brings new books to add to the list. Two great ones this year, so first up the #AgathaChristie classic ‘The Murder of Roger Ackroyd’. Once read, you need to go back read it again.

In every produced version of A Christmas Carol, Scrooge's housekeeper steals his stuff after he dies & sells it to Old Joe. Yet in no version does he wake up, realize he isn't dead, and fire the housekeeper.

Tonight we enjoy Christmas Eve by watching the classic ‘Its a Wonderful Life’. Sometimes you need a reminder how each of us is important.

What do you do when it’s two days before Christmas and 5 of 8 of your cast is either busy with family or come down with the flu? You go home, have a whiskey sour and watch ‘Home Alone’.

The winter solstice ❄️ A time of transition, to cast off the energy that no longer serves you, time just for you, to breathe and recharge. Light a candle, welcome back the light, embrace the energy of a new season, awaken your dreams, and hold gratitude for the year that has passed. Happy Yule.

Tonight we’re watching a New Years Eve movie. There’s not a lot of them. For us it’s ’When Harry Met Sally’ directed by the great and now sadly late Rob Reiner. He made some great ones…

Tonight we celebrate the holidays by watching the classic ‘Holiday Inn’. Great work by Bing and Astaire.

And we’re finishing the night off with ‘A Muppet Christmas Carol’ Michael Caine is the second best Scrooge!

Starbucks in Vancouver brought back the Eggnog Latte. Ending this year on a high note!

And finally ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’. A 70’s version with Joel Grey as a mouse. Not many know it but it’s worth the watch.

Tonight we celebrate the Holidays by watching the movie ‘Elf’. I always try to imagine the writers selling this to the studio. “it’s Will Ferrell as an Elf!”…who knew it would become a Christmas classic.

Tonight was a great Christmas party and now we continue with the film ‘White Christmas’. Ahh the festive season.
