I got a text from comcast yesterday at 11 that they’d be doing work on our internet services today. So now I am sitting in a Starbucks parking lot stealing their wifi so I can attend this stupid virtual staff meeting. Sigh.

If you're in the US and dealing with loss/reduction of your SNAP benefits look into WIC. WIC provides food support for pregnant people, post partum people for up to 1 year, & kids from birth to age 5. Income based, but if you get SNAP you probably qualify. In CA at least we still have funding.

I drove from New York to California this past week. On the drive i listened to What Happened in Skinner S1, Out of Place, I Am in Eskew, and Fresh Meat eps 7 & 8. It was all together a very pleasant experience.

sorry to worry people! i rolled my ankle badly on the way down the hotel stairs this morning. It hurts like hell but is almost certainly NOT broken, and I’m taking care of myself, and will be rest/compress/ice/elevating it when i get home. Couple more driving hours.

I got to see my cousins today for the first time in over a decade and it was wonderful and I am happy. It wasn’t weird at all and that’s nice.

I’m honestly really enjoying this trip. I thought it would be super stressful and driving would make me miserable, but I’m having fun. I /am/ missing being properly online, but realized trying to be /was/ making me stressed & there’s nothing that can’t wait a bit.

Finished S1 of What Happened in Skinner yesterday. That was /deeply/ satisfying. Well-told story, solid conclusion with opening for S2 that didn’t make me feel like I was left hanging. Did a lot of fun stuff, and gave me the clues I needed to figure stuff out & feel smart.

I am NOW in Iowa.

I'm not /tired/ but my brain is used up. Alas.

I am now in Ohio. Pennsylvania was gorgeous. I think i went through one more other state too, if i did it was beautiful too.
