Lots to love on Dynamite but the thing that caught my eye most was MJF. He always cuts great post match promos but there seemed to be a fire there that I hadn't seen in quite a while. A pumped up, motivated,on his game MJF is a great tool for AEW to have.

AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat for Tag Team of the Year: The Young Bucks Even they would admit it wasn't their best year but still the highest performing tag team in AEW. MOTY contender with Darby & Sting and many other strong matches to support.

AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat for Wet Fart of the Year: Adam Cole & MJF Story continues when we are begging them to stop it. Sadly a very hot contested award from a bunch of wrestlers in very high-profile programs who should know better. Could be any of these really.

AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat for Gooba of the Year: Harley Cameron (@harleycameron.bsky.social) Such a joy to see on screen. Genuinely funny, multi-talented, always happy to stooge off and show figurative arse. Harleygram was amazing. A perfect numskull heel to have on the card.

AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat for Debutante of the Year: Will Ospreay (@willospreay.bsky.social) Set the world of AEW alight from the second he debuted. Predictably one of the best in ring all year but was also one of the strongest on the mic as well. A highlight of every show he was on.

AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat Nut Trucker of the Year: Mark Briscoe Always entertaining in any role, comedy, serious, in ring, on the mic. Created a stable of randoms on the power of his charisma alone. Rarely high profile but always trucking nut forward.

AEW Match Guide 2024 Golden Wombat for Rookie of the Year goes to: Mariah May (@mariahmay.bsky.social) One of the best segments of the year in her turn on Toni Storm and a very good match at All In. Also strong performances in ring throughout the year with improvements in presentation too.

The one night story of Will Ospreay at World's End was incredible. Bruv manages to overcome a personal rival in the semis but is beaten bloody. Comes into the final against a guy he has never beaten clean and despite running hot his previous beating means he cannot get it done.

Overall World's End was a fantastic wrestling show. The C2 matches were incredible with Will Ospreay making me reconsider my pick of WOTY with an absolute shift. Beyond that the women really stood out too. I didn't hate the main event but the 'big return' fell flat with me.

So I guess they are just dropping the FTR & Outrunners program so they can continue to have completely stale characters but instead have a vanity run with an old dude cause the last old dude got fired.

I am exactly the person this Darby & Moxley story is for, I wrote multiple columns and did an episode of my podcast about their excellent 2020 match, how it showcased their character dynamic and how emotionally engaged I was in their rivalry. But in 2024 I'm not feeling it 🧵

The new RAW logo is "rebellious" Get absolutely fucked Triple H. WWE is a machine, the biggest wrestling promotion to ever exist, it is the status quo. It can not be and never will be rebellious.

I was spoiled on the ending and I got totally sucked into Mark Briscoe v Kyle Fletcher. It is everything that there is to love about tournament wrestling, built and built to an incredible crescendo in the final minute. Mark Briscoe being able to beat anyone on his night is magic.

I loved how workmanlike Okada v Mortos was. Okada went in, got hit hard but was ultimately just a level above Mortos. Very enjoyable match

One of these cowards better wear that Devil mask to the ring. If you believe in a story enough to take over a year, kill your title reign, fan support, career trajectory & damn near the entire promotion, despite people begging you to stop, you should at least have the guts to go all the way with it

Watched Toni Storm on Rampage and discourse aside I think doing the return there was a very intentional choice. I bet in her next promo she acts like she has just debuted in the company. 'Timeless Toni' is going back to her previously successful role.

Who has worse judgement when it comes to friends, Sting or Prince Andrew?

The world needs a new Hiroshi Tanahashi so badly. A guy who's star power and charisma is undeniable but whose WORK in an actutual wrestling match with MOVES makes the people squeel and weep as he fights back.

Going for gold! I honestly thought I was out of it after Mark Briscoe lost the opening match. Plenty of weeks to go but cool to see.

The issue I had with Ricochet V Komander is I could see the momentary pause before they hit every big move. It was spectacular but it wasn't slick and that moment seen enough times just breaks things for me when it comes to high flyers.

Continental K's Rd.3 - Rampage Total So Far Time: 2.44:35 Distance: 70.3km Elevation: 404m Okada V Briscoe was class, probably my favourite C2 match so far. Briscoe so determined to lock in a knock out punch with the J-Driller but Okada had too much leverage.

If ROH having a tv show kicks off with a GCW invasion starting with a bunch of GCW guys jumping Jericho at Final Battle, that would be a pretty cool work.
