My wife has always been a bit self conscious about how she looks. So every time someone checks her out and I notice they are, I always let her know. No matter who it is (unless they're a creepy old guy). It seems to have increased her self-esteem quite a bit.

It's far easier to have a conversation with a #Christian about the existence of #God than it is to have one with a #pantheist/#panentheist/#Spinozan. Trying to get a pantheist to understand they're simply defining God into existence is debilitating.

There was a point in time where I thought that if people lied as a way to justify the ends (lying about policies, people, actions, ideas) that it would be found to be a lie and people would leave that group. But people are fucking stupid and don't really give a fuck about the lies.

Believing everything is up for debate assumes that the audience can divorce themselves from the conversation being had. LGBTQ rights aren't up for debate as it's dehumanizing. Saying everything is up for debate means you cannot get nailed down to a position as you can shrug it off.

When a tragedy is perpetrated by an "extremist" of #Christianity I'll often see non- extremist #Christians use a No True Scotsman Fallacy. When doing this, it not only diminishes the actions taken by the Christian, but also dismisses the problem with Christianity in that it is highly interpretable.

Anytime I make the statement "We do not choose our #beliefs; choose to believe there is no #God" a #theist will say "I don't want to." The problem is that it's not about *wanting to* or not, but about ability. Under the "Belief is a choice" position, you CAN switch between the two at will.

#Theists will specifically use #science as a tool to help them until it has conclusions they don't agree with, then it becomes a parallel of #Lilith.

I consistently see #Christians attempting to project it's rules upon #atheists and #theists of different #denominations and #religions. You know what I don't see? Atheists doing that to theists. Live by your own #religious rules. We don't follow your #God or interpretation and don't need to follow.

When #Christians hit you with "You know you choose your #beliefs, right?" so you get them with "Choose to #believe I'm always right, remember, it's not about wanting to, but ability." and they completely ignore and deflect from that task.
