I looked at my Bsky profile today and saw my bio said that I love hockey. This Canes team is really making me question that. It's just incredibly frustrating that it just always feels like empty calories when it comes to this team.

First 2, 0-1-1. 3 goal leads in both. The Canes should make the playoffs, but they're not a Contender. You can fault Svech, goalies, or injuries. The team is bark, no bite. Idc about current position in standings. The quality of play displayed isn't going to get it done in the postseason.

Hockey is such a funny sport. There's a side of me that's like, yay the Canes have a 2 goal lead. The other side of me is like "oh no, the dreaded two goal lead."

Top line for the Canes has really been the only group that's been able to sustain any zone time in the 2nd period. One goal waved off. Bussi has been sharp when called upon, and that's been a lot so far tonight.. 1-0 after 40.

This 3 game stretch against the Florida based teams will tell me a lot about the current structure of the Canes. While I'm thrilled about the Canes' 5 game win streak, only 2 of those wins were in regulation, both coming against teams in the bottom of their respective division (CLB, NSH).

What a difference two weeks can make. On December 4th, 1st place and 8th place in the Metro division was separated by only 5 points. Fast forward to today, and that 5 point gap is now between 1st and 2nd with the Canes having a game in hand on the Isles. Keep an eye on the Flyers tho

I felt pretty decent about the shootout for the Canes because when you go against a very talented shootout team, put them against a rather unconventional goalie. Canes win. After trailing 2-0 after 1, they take the lead in the third and enjoyed it for like 5 seconds. Then Blake ended it.
