I made kind of a joke comment this morning and then added the hashtag #EsperantoIsReal . The more I think about it, the more I think this could be a serious idea (although maybe a catchier hashtag is in order). Maybe it cold be #HahaEsperanto

@nemocs.bsky.social suggested that this sign might be in Esperanto. Obviously it is not, but I was sure it said "We are experts on Dlablabla" -- after staring at it, I made a connection with some BAD Esperanto I've seen... And realized slowly that "aperts" is meant to mean "open" -- on Sundays.

I often say that Esperanto's worst enemy is obscurity. Time for this meme to come back for another visit.

I often refer to a moment where I was sure that I would always be able to read Esperanto - even if I never did anything else with it - and thus Esperanto would always be "mine". I never got to test the idea because I still use Esperanto. Nice to see that someone else did.

Not only do I speak Esperanto - but I also know what an Esperanto Doughboy is. I've even got the t-shirt AND a somewhat bizarre story from the owner of how I got it. AND I know that they're called hoboys [sp?] now bc they didn't want any trouble with trademarks. Oh, and they're too yummy to throw

At least it wasn't "Ĉu vi havas kapon?" (Do you have a head?) This was from a video of a lecture by Katalin Kovats about particularly bad phrases from real Esperanto learning materials and the need for something better.

It's nice to see a story about the "unseen success" of Esperanto in contrast to the common idea that Eo "fell short". This is a failed article. I might quibble with the "only 16 rules" and some the specifics of the "digital resurgence" - but there will be time for that later. :-)

In my youth I wanted to learn Biblical Greek. I also believed that learning a language as an adult was impossible so I never started. Years later I reflected on this and realized that in the meanwhile I'd learned two other languages to fluency. I almost could have been the guy in this screen shot.

Without checking a dictionary, I might disagree with some of the names here -- most notably "INDIANIO" is the obvious correct name for that state. I believe I've heard "Roda Insulo" but I won't swear to that. It's also necessary to double check NJ and DE.
