I bought theses lovely postcards at Uncle Albert's Cafe and Ice-cream Emporium in Borth, Ceredigion. Gorgeous reproductions of lino prints by Stuart Evans. I'm very pleased with them. Lots of linocutting technique for me to learn from them.

Really stimulating visit to the Ivor Davies retrospective exhibition in the Arts Centre in Aberystwyth. Fascinating and inspiring.

I'm sitting on some exciting news, which I can't release for a couple of weeks. Sorry, I know this is a terrible tease. But I wanted to share my excitement. The main takeaway from this is that I'm feeling happy and hopeful.

I'm painfully slow at language learning. (This is connected to my neurological differences.) I've tried so many times to learn Welsh, the language of the country where I was born. Always I've failed. But on my present attempt, I'm making better progress. (1)

These so called 'gardening gloves' are useless. I've waited and waited, but so far nothing. Do they need batteries or something? If so, they should have come included. No instructions. If I could give zero stars, I would.

On a sunny walk around behind County Hall. Presently sitting in the shade to cool down next to the sports area. Impressively, the ice warning signs are still up and the paths have been recently gritted (apparently). Leicestershire County Council really take ice seriously. Or so it seems.

Roughly framing up this charcoal/gelplate monoprint from a couple of years ago. It's an old frame and doesn't quite fit perfectly. But the image amused me. And somehow the off-centre framing suits the wonky crows.

Framing and hanging another of my pieces. This one is next to a wonderful batik design of my mother's.

Hanging one of my prints in a spare space on the wall - as a temporary home for it. (I know it doesn't really belong there.) And it just hit me that it is next to one of my grandfather's oil paintings. I don't deserve to be in that company. But it feels meaningful, nonetheless.

Wonderful day at States of Independence at DMU. I forgot to take a picture of my stall at the beginning of the day. So, here is my somewhat depleted stall after selling a load of books and prints.

Beware of the year-round ice at Leicestershire County Council's County Hall. It is one of the world's greatest miracles. Just think of the amount of money they must spend gritting every day for 12 months.

Another trip to admire our closest art gallery. Always something new to admire. I particularly like the one at the very end, which goes around the corner. Only half of it is visible in this shot.

Experimenting using a linoprint block behind the paper and rolling acrylic across the top. A kind of bark rubbing but without bark or wax crayons.

This is one of my decalcomania pictures from 2 years ago. FB today reminded me of it. And in retrospect, it seems rather better to me than it did then. Decalcomania was a technique used by some of the surrealists, to produce abstract patterns which they then embellished.

The Great Pottery Throwdown is so beautiful in every way. I want all of the finalists to win. Thank you Keith, Richard, Siobhan and Princess. And thank you Channel 4.

First attempt at making a cola pen.

I've been working with 1st year Creative Writing students at DMU, helping them to produce a compilation of their drabbles (100 word stories). The booklets have just arrived from the printer. Here's me opening the box. I'm really pleased with the way it's turned out.

After the by-election, I'm seeing people talk in concerned voices about 'family voting'. Now, I like to go with members of my family to vote in elections. A collective celebration of this hard-won democracy. Does that count as 'family voting'? Or does my ethnicity make it not so worrying?
