We had a brilliant Senior Phase Information Evening last week, with lots of workshops to help learners with school work and future pathways. Thanks to Mrs O’Malley for organising, and to the staff and pupil leaders for facilitating #AimJHigh #Determination

This week, Spateston Nursery children came to visit our Nat 5 Practical Cake Craft class, whereby they collaborated to make cup cakes, which were then decorated and eaten! The children were brilliant and the cake pupils really displayed skills such as leadership, communication and integrity.

Fantastic day at the Scottish Parliament where some of our JHS pupils were representing the Renfrewshire Schools Pipe Band in a performance outside parliament followed by a Q&A from Tom Arthur and a visit to chamber 🎶

Congratulations to our very own Reuben McLardie, who has been selected to represent Team Scotland at the upcoming British Cycling Track Inter Regional Championships in Glasgow next month. The event brings together the very best u16 Boys & Girls from all over the UK & Ireland. Good luck, Reuben!

We are pleased to announce that Johnstone High has now been accredited by the Scottish Book Trust as a Gold Reading School. This is testament to the hard work and creativity of our wonderful pupils. We're look forward to continuing this work in the next academic year.

The Summer Concert 'From Highlands to Happily Ever After' Tickets are now on salein school. Tickets are £4 for adults and £2 for concessions (children and over 65). The concert is on Thursday 5th June. Doors open at 6:30pm.

Health Week 2025 Highlights part 1 Well done to all pupils who took part in alternative activities in PE this week. Great fun was had by all doing things such as archery, clubbercise, gaelic football, lacrosse, Swedish long ball and water polo.

Our English department recently took 20 S1 pupils to the Paisley Book Festival. They attended a poetry workshop with Children’s Laureate Jospeh Coello and were gifted some of his books for the library. Our pupils were engaged, imaginative and a credit to the department!

Nate U (S2) will be competing at the Scottish National Swimming Championships from April 5th to 9th, having successfully qualified for seven individual races. His dedication, with countless early mornings, late evenings, and numerous competitions, has truly paid off. Well done, Nate!

Absolutely delighted to let you all know that the Renfrewshire School's 'A' PipeBand (made up entirely of JHigh pupils) placed 3rd in the freestyle competition at the Scottish School's PipeBand Championships last weekend. The competition was tough this year with a record number of 17 bands entered!
