Recognition of a Palestinian state without meaningful action to stop the genocide taking place right now promises to be performative, at best—much like Canada's commitment to 'reconciliation' while it actively ignores and undermines its commitments to complete the TRC's 94 Calls to Action.

From Lisa Fontaine’s Winyan (Dakota word for “woman”) at The Winnipeg Art Gallery until June 8. ‘Fontaine’s work centers and celebrates the beauty of Indigenous femininities as a resistance to heteropatriarchal and colonial practices.’ Stunning works.

As a therapist I worry about the way that current conceptualizations of mental health uphold the status quo by pathologizing individuals instead of viewing suffering as an inevitable consequence of our systems. Liberation psychology gestures towards the paradigm shift we need.

I just heard Jared Monkman on CBC North say it's going to be +5 in Fort Good Hope today. That's wild, it should be like -40 this time of year

I went to a very fun painting class last night at Saxifrage Studio. I love this corner with a little fried egg and a string of Les Thompson red devil lures, maybe?
