As I was driving on rural back roads until very late last night, I saw lots of fireworks shows, big and small along the way. Was listening to the news about tax cuts and healthcare cuts. Woke up early today in a fog. It was less like “Morning in America and more like, “The Day After.”

When George passed away, nobody wanted his things. Heck, even he hadn’t worn most of these clothes since the 1970s. I hope everyone just lets them be. They are a little sad, but strangely beautiful.

The sky was threatening and hinted that I should seek cover. The sun strongly suggested that I stop and make a photo first.

They say that driving is more dangerous than flying. Maybe, but when my car stalls, I don’t fall 30,000 feet.

Watching the cars and trucks go by and thinking, Where are they going? Are they lonely? Are they lost in some oldies music as they drive? — Then a big rig honks at me and I think that maybe they’re just wondering what the heck that guy with a camera is doing up there.

The rain eventually stopped, but everything still looks like this to me.

My all-night friend, Waffle House, announced that they are adding a $.50 surcharge per egg due to the bird flew outbreak. It’s going to take more than that to keep me out of Hopperville.

This is a portrait I made of Jimmy Carter a while back. It seems to go well with a yard sign that’s in the front yard of his house in Plains, Georgia. The sign is quite a contrast to the signs I saw promoting the incoming man from Florida.
