The holidays, as always, flew by, and the stores are already bringing out hearts (and I wouldn’t be surprised if even bunnies show up). But wait — I can’t possibly finish a whole can of Christmas tea in a week. I’ve actually only just seen snow for the first time this winter.

Found this beauty on the ground - probably broken off by the rain that lasted all day. As bittersweet as mimosa (technically, it's acacia dealbata) feels to me, I can’t stop looking at it.

Summer found me in the form of a strawberry gift. Even though strawberries are available year-round, they still remind me of summer. I recall how in childhood strawberries had their moment of nagori [名残], when you eat and realize it's likely the last time this season, a bittersweet farewell.

Old good "fake it 'till you make it". Piles of books creating a corner that feels like home (like a slice of normal life).

Thinking back to the time we once ate that giant bun with cream. And how quickly the Christmas season passed, with its markets and lights. And how the years keep flying by – faster and faster.

It always feels strange to me that the winter holidays are over while winter itself is still ahead, and it is too early for spring decorations.

The most gorgeous book about mushrooms I’ve ever seen - Mushroom Botanical Art by Toshimitsu Fukiharu. Of course, my favorite section is "Illustrated Plants of Japan in the 19th century. Honzō zufu". Beautiful things as a way to hold on in this messed-up world.
