Seeing the person, the man only mumbled a low curse, lowering his face while dragging a face over it. And of course, a sigh. All the opposite to the girl besides him. "Strife. How did you got here?"

Pokéballs equipped, the professor hanged his lab coat on a near furniture, making his way to her. "Everything okay, kid? I hear noises. Please try to keep the fridge in order."

"She insists on having manners." A tiny smile of pride crossed Sun's face as Lyra seemed happy with the shake. After that, she crawled to her trainer's back, holding onto his head. He didn't seem bothered, though. "Lyra usually greets people who come to my house on business, so she's used to it."

"Well, thanks. I try to make it as cozy as possible for them." Outside, the Pokémon were playing, some resting, other doing other stuff, like eating berries.

"... 💧" With a grimmace, he sighed, getting up and looking for his Pokéballs...

A blink, took by surprise. "You're not in the condition to battle, kid."

"The hell is a weeb?"

Offering her a nod, he made his way to the fridge, getting back besides her with a chocolate bar. "Here."

"Breath, kid. Slowly... Follow me. Inhale, exhale... You're here. Not there."

Feeling her tremble, he let out a soft sigh, surrounding her with his arms in a hug. Of course this was going to happen... A kid shouldn't see that. So he did the best he could to confort her, caressing her back and head. "Don't think about it."

Hearing that, his eyebrows frowned. Gently taking her hands, he lowered them slowly. "You remember."

"Then stop spacing out when mumbling, kid." Finally, he let her go.

Ah. The infinite mumble. He had no idea what she was talking about. So, he pulled her cheek gently to stop her, like treating a child.

A tiny smile formed on his lips. "Yeah." Curious, he followed Orion, to see what he was up to.

A brief, small chuckle. "Welcome to our world, kid."

For a moment, he stopped at the mention of the word 'Karma'. But inmediatly as it came, he shrug it off. "What's that?"

The little Psychic type let out another meow in response. Pulling of his pants softly as a gesture to take her on his arms, Sun complied. And when Lyra was on Lu's eye height, she extended a paw to shake. Polite Pokémon!

A soft grimmace. "You could say that... I don't think I deserver the credit as for 'raising him' since I didn't met him as a child. I only was there for a few years. I would say guidance more than anything, but... If he sees it that way, who I am to oppose?"

"You're answering that question yourself." He pointed at her before patting her head. "You are you. Despite all that, despite all the twisted expectations, you're here, doing good. Perhaps some versions of you were not as strong, nor could handle the pressure, but that's not YOUR story, isn't it?"

"Ah, that. Nothing in particular, just taking a walk with her." And for 'her' he looked down at his feet, where a small Espurr was standing besides them. Said Pokémon looked at Lu, waving with calm with a brief meow. "Her name is Lyra."

"Like any other kid, he had fears of not being able to keep up to the expectations people had over him, and that caused him anxiety. Fear. Nerviousness. Fortunately, now he's all better, and has a stronger confidence."

A raised brow. "And?"

He heard everything, not interrupting until the end, letting out a hum. "Alternative versions tend to be an annoyance to deal with. Are you scared of the implications that exist with multiple you going around?"

For a moment, he didn't understood the surprise. "Ah." Right. "He's adopted."

"Anxious. Hyperactive. Too cheerful and bright. A literal baby Growlithe." All of that said with a straight blank face.

Reaching his hand as well, imitating their action, he shaked her hand in a firm yet gentle way. "Indeed we did." He wouldn't admit it out loud, but some of his latest conversations ended with both sides being too caught up. "Pleasure to meet you as well, Lu."

In silence, he took a few moments to stare at the kid in front of him before taking a seat to her side. "What are you scared of?"

"For a while, yeah." No point on denying it. "Before he moved with Simon, that is."

A nod. "I do. He's my son."

"That too." She made a very fair statement. It was then when he realized the lack of manners. "Ah, right. I'm Sun... You could say I'm a Trainer as well, like you."

Jackpot. "Some people find it... Insulting, so to speak. So better prevent than cure, I guess." He didn't want to sound rude after all. "Long way from home. Travelling the world to search for challenges?"

"Black hair, hyperactive, talks non-stop like a Chatot? Yeah. His name is Terry."

Another blink. "Ah. Orion." Made sense. Leaving his confortable position, he got up with a crack of his fingers. "What brings you here? Did Terry got in trouble?"

A hum. "You gave that vibe." And he wasn't lying. Some trainers did. Yet, he tilted his head a bit. "Sorry, but your accent is curious. Hope you don't mind asking, but... Are you Galarian, perhaps?"

Before his actual life, he would be surprised. But, after many things, a Jirachi floating under his roof only made him stare at it. "... Can I help you?"

A hum. "Very well. What do you want to know?"

Hearing the girl, he looked at her and the group of Pokémon before blinking, noticing her clothes. "... A person who is very lost, surely." Lost in his own thoughts, he tapped his chin, a drop of sweat running on the back of his head. Now the portal took him to another time period? Great...
