Did a 2.5K words day yesterday but I'm hitting a complex part of the book. I know where I need to end up, but there are complex parts that need to align. I'm resigned to not matching yesterday's wordcount, but I'll keep trying to make progress somewhere in the book.

Work provided a presentations training course today. The ask was a five-minute presentation on a subject of your choice. I made book sales out of a free five minute advert for The First Folio. I stuck a QR code on every slide in the deck... It would have been rude not to.

Writing plan for the week ahead: switch from The Second Son (first draft) to editing the few short reads I want to release over the next few months. They'll go off to the proofreader while I return to The Second Son. There's definitely a plan in here somewhere!

Been a long day at the keyboard, what with a busy work day and writing where I can. Ending the day on 59K words into draft one of book two... Target word count is 95K or under, but let's see where the first draft takes us and then whittle away in the edit. #amwriting #amwritingfantasy

That's a wrap. All edits now in the electronic file. Now sitting just over 94K words. I have back matter and blurb work to do and to get the ebook out to a few early readers ahead of releasing to the world later this year.

Three chapters and an epilogue to go and I'm all done with my final pass on Faust: The First Folio. Been interesting and does prove that it wasn't ready to query. That said, I don't for a minute think it will successfully hook an agent. If it didn't before, it won't now.

Final round of edits on Faust: The First Folio are now in progress. At the risk of jinxing myself and at the very obvious risk of hubris to be repaid by reader reviews... I'm enjoying this book.

That's not a stack of blank paper. That's the completed red-pen read through of Faust:The First Folio. Next job... Edit all the red squiggles into the manuscript and call it done. Once the manuscript is finished, I'll be sending out ebook ARCs. If anyone does fancy receiving one, let me know.

What's in a name, I hear you ask. A rose by any other name... I'm changing the name of a central character in my Faust WIP books. It'll be more readable and look less like a spelling mistake. I've done it before. Percy Selbit became Gabriel Switch. Decision made. #amwriting
