I recently did a review for a promotion and tenure case at Prestigious University. Such reviews are really important, so I almost always do them when asked even though they do take a lot of effort. But it just occurred to me that PU never even bothered to give me a simple thank you for doing it. 🙄

Flying to Amsterdam tomorrow for a workshop in Leiden at the Lorentz Center. All night last night I had travel stress dreams (late for my flight while dropping things in the airport, losing my wallet, can't find my laptop, took the wrong bus, etc). And that was *last* night. What will tonight bring?

Had the giant, dying tree that was looming over our house taken out today. The tree was mostly hollow. This is gonna be a big change for our lawn and garden, not to mention our heating and coolong bills....
