language enjoyer she/elle/etc
just realised i think i have both centre and center orthographically sometimes i don't think it's a 100% consistent distinction but i think maybe centre is like the place (usually a something centre), but the middle of something is a center something?

Turns out they don't trust authors with offprints anymore, citing "piracy" concerns, and would rather you didn't share your work at all where they can't track it

potentially stupid question, but does anyone know if there's anything about the arabic prepositions most transparently derived from nouns (like ones that just look like the construct accusative of an existing noun) that actually makes them not nouns?

i feel like papers (and other stuff too, for that matter) should link to archived versions of pages so they they're less likely to just end up with dead links within a few years that will just continue to point to nothing for the rest of eternity

I love that الإشمام, which seems to refer to pronouncing /y/ in some contexts, is the verbal noun of 'make sniff/smell'. I never would have thought to describe it that way but it just kinda makes sense
