Watched the highlights back and a few things stood out: 1. The Paul’s couldn’t have taken their two chances any worse. Literally anywhere else on either shot and we score two goals. Rothrock’s was egregious. 2. Osaze naively gets picked on the corner and his man is the one that scores.

All around an okay to bad result. Lots of small mistakes which led to the result. A great team, even against Tigres, should be able to overcome this result however.

I still think this team advances from the group stage. 2nd feels most likely behind probably Turkey but I can easily see them winning all 3 games also. Regardless, we still feel destined for a R16 exit to either Belgium or Argentina. I do think a R16 game vs Belgium in Seattle is the easier match

Watched the USMNT highlights finally (not the match which seems to have been a good decision). Seems like it mostly came down to a lack of defensive intensity in certain moments. It’s funny that the fans have again resorted to blaming individuals when the issue is team-wide.

I don’t love the Georgi move. I also don’t hate it either. 2M is a lot of GAM, especially if some form of GAM sticks around in the new CBA. Georgi was buried behind several guys and clearly there are others coming up (like Kingston) the team trusts can deputize on the wing.

That’s a game you should probably win. But on the road and given the nervy moments, I’m okay with a draw

Thought that was an improved half for Rusnak. Really good early ball to Osaze and thought he’s looked better at driving forward in moments. Not quite at his best but better.

Alex Roldan’s defensive play this season has been masterful. Should be an All-Star candidate if he keeps this up.

That ball from Petkovic was exquisite. His passing has been super impressive these last two matches.

Moose and Rothrock need to be the starter in big games for now

Terrible half. The front 2 look atrocious. Osaze looks like a Next Pro player at times. Dumb yellow to end the half. KKR losing guys at the back post and getting beat routinely 1v1. Just bad bad bad all around.

Takeaways from the match: 1. Lopez box positioning was nearly impeccable. Really capable and composed playing with both feet as well. 2. Kingston and Petkovic especially showed a great range of passing. Kingston kept it simple mostly but showed some moments. Petkovic showed he can unlock defenses.

Man Arriola has impressed me so much since coming back. Just pure commitment. Even though he missed the chance early, you have to love the running off the ball. Ferreira excellent again linking play. Cristian not sharp once again. Brunell has been very wriggly on the ball.
