some people struggle to think up anything with kanamizu, which is fine, they don’t have a lot in canon that’s easy to see. i meanwhile am harnessing the power of all the untapped kanamizu potential and am thinking up kanamizus that have never been thought up before.

i know some people would rather the story was more upfront with niigo’s parents and everything they are but i actually really like how they’ve shown us them. showing us the worst of mafuena’s first and characterizing them as the stories go on, i think, actually validates mafuena’s feelings,

i think it’s unfortunate how much people want to simplify kanade down into either “super gentle and sweet” or “very mentally ill” to where they can’t see the balances and nuances in her character. mental illness isn’t a personality, it’s just an illness. anyone can get it.

Fun fact, actually the original drawing i posted was a re made of a sketch i was try making but failed, so i made that version which was far easier to do. However today motivated by people on a Mizu5 server, i brought back the original pose and idea of the drawing.

i really love that red, and not blue, is kanade’s unit color. a color of strength, passion, warmth, love, and protection. it’s a little faded, but in her soul, she carries that. she’s calm and peaceful on a surface view but there’s so much going on beneath that only hidden by her struggles.
