I have witnessed poverty with my own eyes and my own body. I’ve been homeless going to school while my mom still worked. I’ve used a wooden outhouse in the backyard at my auntie’s house. I’ve taken baths from a local stand pipe outside when we didn’t have water. I’ve had the rock soup experience.

Y’all want homeless people to be the dirty rag covered bums pushing shopping carts full of junk. Those are the mentally ill. Your coworkers are the real homeless. Homeless people have jobs too.

Girl if only they knew how many people working those same big jobs are packing the shelters in NYC right now. You can make 100k and still be homeless. Homeless doesn’t mean you drink water from the gutter.
