I can't wait to be back here asking for a Kona ban in less than two months! I said it on Rebelcast 59 and I'll say it again: We can't ban our way into a fun standard without paying attention to SET DESIGNS! Kona was a mistake. Omni was a mistake. Power scaling messes with the balance of competitive.

So I've delayed publishing this opinion because the majority of MTG creators and players play Best of One magic, but... this is unprecedented. WotC literally looked at Pioneer which is in a healthy place and made a decision based on Bo1 play patterns. The problem is Bo1 is run with hand smoothing.

it's a sad state of affairs that an LGS has to ask the public for help supporting a sealed event. This is the state of the competitive scene in MTG right now while Wizards blames us for pointing it out rather than fixing it. Smh support your LGS.

If you're a writer/other creator in the United States, consider creating an LLC for your business and then signing up for a local area Chamber of Commerce. Many of them have health insurance plans that pool their members and members of other CoCs to create insurance efficiencies relative to ACA.

Really great thing to say to those who need to hear it, but I don't feel loved. I don't feel heard. I don't feel like my thoughts and values matter to the MTG community. I'm going to push forward anyway because my community needs me and I need them.
