Pro tip: dock at a nearby carrier before attempting to land if you haven't already. Or you might respawn at a station far away if you wreck your ship. Besides that, it's really worth it. Bring an SRV and wait in it while you pass through the exclusion zone and jet cones, and your ship will be fine.

Solid advice. This is also why i like the Caspian for long range exploration. It's bloody heavy to start with, and throwing in a Prismatic shield generator along with a shield booster won't affect the jump range much. Esp. if you engineer the shield gen for ELP+Hi-Cap. (More strength, less weight.)

Another mining run (I'm not in the mood for exploration tonight). The yield from the hotspot I found last is insane. 267+6t in 30 minutes, and nearly every roid prospected contained Tritium. And I'm getting better at aiming to get the fragments to fly right into the cargo scoop. #EliteDangerous

Worst pristine Tritium "hotspot" I've ever been to, by far. 95% of the roids turned out to be duds, and the few that actually contained Tritium did it only in small quantities. After wasting the 110 limpets I brought (on prospecting) and having synted 20 more, I got a little more than 230t.

Having jumped my carrier almost 2,000 ly further "North", it's time to go out for some exploration and exobio. And to find a new Tritium source. The hour I spent mining yesterday yielded around 540t of Trit, and I used a little over 400 of them jumping. Seems doable, right? #EliteDangerous
