Finally got around to watching Nosferatu (2024), joined by my friend @creekfanatic88.bsky.social. Eggers just doesn't disappoint. Beautiful. Haunting. Familiar but strange. Erotic. Brutal. I'm still not sure how I feel about Orlok's mustache, though. Peculiar choice. Otherwise, I loved it.

For some odd reason I decided to sit through all 68 episodes of Z Nation, a SyFy series from 2014. It's a prime example what actors can do to make their characters fun in a show that is bonkers & makes next to no sense at almost any point. It's bizarre fun & bizarre bad at once.

I'm outside on my beautiful patio using my laptop for a zoom call with 8 other people. I'm walking inside when I feel something on my leg. I look down annnd it's a frog; chilling on my calf. I danced around in silent terror shaking this new little friend the f*ck off of me. XD

Cobra Kai, I found you when you were this weird little show on @YouTube "Red" and watched you grow on @Netflix into a perfect little blend of nostalgia and new. The use of Joe Esposito's "You're the Best" was spot-on bow-tieing brilliance. You will be missed.

40 mins of end credits. I sat through them all bcuz everyone involved in Cyberpunk 2077 deserves that time. A freakin' fantastic #videogame that delivers in every way a game can for me. @cdpr made one incredible piece of entertainment & storytelling. Time for a new playthrough.

Act 4 of my #horror #play went down tonight. My Wednesday #writers group enjoys the sense of dread mixed with moments of relief even as things seem hopeless. One more act to go then rewrites & more rewrites.

Thanks to my friend David Jaffe & our connection via the awesome Popcorn Frights #Horror Film Festival I was able to watch a movie I adore in theaters for the first time ever. The Fall (2006) by director Tarsem Singh stars my man-crush Lee Pace & is just such a visually captivating #film.

This map I made tonight for D&D was the setting for an epic encounter with zombies, skeletons, an undead archer, and a Demilich. The team was on the verge of total failure but persevered. However, though they won a battle, they may have lost the war. #DnD #ttrpgcommunity

Twisters auto-played for me last night on @peacock. I ended up watching the whole thing. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Just the right amount of dumb fun but clever subversions. Also, some terrifying VFX and amazing sound.

My journey into @Peacock #horror continues as I begin the 'B' section with the 1996 werewolf #film Bad Moon starring Mariel Hemingway & Michael Pare. The werewolf looked very cool, but the most unbelievable part of it all was that a German Shepherd could beat a werewolf 1v1.

Life as a creative professional, a writer in my case, is never easy. It's rarely lucrative. It ends up driving most of us insane. But today made it all worth it. Every nervous breakdown, including the time I cried alone on a park bench surrounded by iguanas. It was worth it. #WriteOn

Finished first leg of my journey into @peacock #horror #movies. The numbered through ‘A’ section contained 26 movies. By far, 1BR is gem of this group. Highly recommend. Two-Headed Shark Attack was hilarious, while The Appearance & Autopsy were interesting. On to the 'B' movies.

Last night's @peacock #horror #movie was Autopsy (2008). A film about five friends who get into a car accident & end up at wrong hospital at wrong time. It features two Terminator 2 alums, Robert Patrick & Jenette Goldstein. It has its moments, like the trephination scene.

Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies is next #film on my journey into @Peacock #horror. Beautiful camera & color work. Awful music, pacing, & script. It wants to be for Austria what Shaun of the Dead was for UK. Not happening. A for effort, though, the movie does look great.

My journey into @Peacock #horror #movies resumed today with Attack of the Killer Donuts (2016). What to say ... pretty sure they used a nice camera. Crisp images of C. Thomas Howell renewing his SAG card, pretending to be eaten by CGI donuts with teeth because of magic serum.

After a weekend of theatre fun & six sold-out shows, it's back to #horror on @Peacock. I remember hearing that the 2018 #film Apollo 18 was bad. Well, good news, my ears work. Sadly, though, my mind didn't listen. Here I am.

Old Connor MacLeod is made young & immortal again when his alien (???) brethren return to Earth, somehow passing through an energy shield. This happens in front of Virginia Madsen's "terrorist" character, who promptly bangs McCleod, someone she just met, in a dirty alley. W.T.F?

I'm watching Highlander 2: Renegade Version & remembering what a colossal disappointment this #movie was. No cut can save it. It's a mess that takes a simple but solid idea of immortals in a deadly struggle to attain power into a hot effin' mess of energy shields & aliens. WTF?

Today's #horror #film on @peacock was Another Evil with Mark Proksch, who is hilarious on What We Do In The Shadows. Unfortunately, this "horror" "comedy" never even tries to be scary & hits a monotone comedic vibe that rarely does anything funny. Almost done w/ the 'A' section. Hallelujah!

I don't do lists of things. But if I did, my worst #horror #movies ever list would include Anneliese: The Exorcist Tapes. What an awful piece of trash. Not "so bad it's fun trash" either. @peacock should be embarrassed to have this on there. It's 90 minutes of hideous nonsense & grunting.

The trip down #horror #movies on @peacock passed through American Psycho tonight. Great fun. Christian Bale is hamming it up in the best ways. The blend of music and murder creates a macabre context. Great visuals from director Mary Harron.
