The new running theory on yt's view issues is that new adblock tech is circumventing being counted as a viewer. It explains why the view shortages are happening on desktop viewers only, and why unmonetized channels are being watched more. Unmonetized channels wouldn't need ad blocking.

YT view problem theory: Views are down, but likes are suspiciously high. YT has changed what counts as a view. My videos are being shown to the same number of viewers still. But this might mean that Yt is taking measures to not count bot, ai, or not logged in views. This makes sense to me honestly.
