EVERY road, EVERY driveway in Vermont is about to become a toll road. This imposes a tax which hits lower income Vermonters more. You know who won't have to pay? Anyone who has a home here but has plates through another state. Yeah, the wealthly.

There are all sorts of ideas states are trying out to ensure our rights. Rights are our foundation and should not be taken for granted by states or by the people.

Had a great conversation with a constituent this morning talking Act 181. We need the goals of more housing and better land use, but the sweeping new regulations are challenging for farm and large land holders. The Legislature needs to rethink the how we get to more housing next term.

Vermont needs to be doing the same!

S Burlington Dep Chief Sean Briscoe should be commended for efforts to de-escalate the tense situation caused by ICE. I hope all Vt LE get this kind of training regularly. Protestors felt excess force was used, but it appears that SB Police tried to keep the situation from boiling over more.

This is exactly the kind of interstate cooperation which I advocate for. Bringing down prescription costs by partnering with other states to take advantage of bulk pricing is a good first step.

This makes every road in Vermont a toll road. I think toll roads have their place, and I advocate for tolls on semi traffic on 22A. But making every mile a tolled mile is a regressive tax. I do not support passing taxes on those least able to afford it.

I will make sure that the Canadian Company which owns Green Mountain Power is treating Vermonters fairly. We aren't their piggy bank!

We are very far from the government which the founders intended us to have. We need to elect representatives who are committed to "No more business as usual" to even start getting us back on track. State & federal elected officials need to have a goal of democracy rejuvenation for the next decade.

This is just one example of states needing to solve problems before the impact families. It may seem small, but when the federal government abandons responsibilities like consumer protection then states must be proactive not reactive.

Maybe the problem with taxes is that it's backwards. The more you can afford, the less you pay. Seems like an easy government fix but a tough political fix.

This is one of those really bad signs.

When the Industrial Revolution reached the US people were losing limbs and lives in the machines. Children were working in dangerous conditions because their small fingers could reach parts that adults couldn't. Without regulation the AI revolution poses unreasonable risks to all of us.

So if Vermont also taxes the ultra wealthy they won't be escaping to New York. Good to know. Time to pay our schools.

Voters have given Phil Scott way too much credit and overlooked some obviously bad policy decisions. The return to office mandate is illegal, and not based in any economic benefit. Do what works, not what makes a statement.
