Day XVI: Favorite Summon/Spell Summon: Once you get it, every boss gets hit with it: FF VIII's Doomtrain. It was both ridiculous and useful. Granted, most of the status effects were moot against bosses, but noting was immune to the (permanent) defense-dropping Vit 0 debuff.

Hmm... What if... Castlevania. But... Musou? 🤔

Alrighty. We're gonna fire things up at some point. Small test run on the new layout. Should, if all's linked correctly, have an onscreen chatbox, alert window, game window, and placeholder slime avatar... which fits for Terraria. Until there's a good crowd, we'll put game titles along the bottom.

Day XV: Favorite Boss Fight In terms of FINAL bosses, I've got to give it to VI for Kefka. The gauntlet before the final battle (possibly including the three bosses immediately before the finale as well, if you don't exit and cycle Strago through the paths to pick up his last Lore spells) was wild.

Day XIV: Favorite Summoner Character Okay. I'm a huge fan of the 3D models for Yuna's summons in X (Plus, the Magus Sisters returning? Noice.) but I also have a soft spot for Rydia's story in IV. Skipping the spoilers, because they're good ones, I'll go with Rydia.

Yikes. Knew I'd been forgetting something these last few days. Anyhow, bulk answer session. Day XIII: Favorite Black Mage Characte Is there a Black Mage other than the FF1 classic and IX's Vivi? Lulu kinda counts since the X crew all start as familiar class types, but that breaks later on.

Good morning on this chilly Monday! Might be a small stream or two with a couple placeholders on the new layout. Little "Coming Soon" or "This Space For Rent" signs on the incomplete areas like the avatar panel and that big open spot. Basically, I wanna play more Terraria.

Well, it ain't much, but it's a start! May tinker with some of the details and such, but I like the way it's turning out so far. Definitely isn't going to be stream-ready anytime soon; there's quite a bit to do yet. Might opt for a chibi 2D version in the meantime. We'll see.

Day XII: Favorite White Mage Rosa from IV grew on me pretty quickly. Monsters could hit hard at times and, except for a couple Cures on Cecil, you needed a dedicated healer to keep everyone going. Job skills, Espers, and such allowed for wider distribution of support skills in other titles, but -

Happy 🍟day, all! Temps are dropping a little this weekend, so it'll be a good time to curl up under a blanket (or two) with some hot cocoa in a mug (or ten) and relax with some favorite shows or games! Myself? I'll be at work yet, but the gaming and warm drinks will be all the better afterwards.

Day XI: Favorite Dragoon Character It's been years and years since I had a proper playthrough of FFIV, but Kain has always been my favorite (sorry, Freya, you never forget your first). The back-and-forth plot with his allegiance had me guessing the whole way.

Not too bad for a couple hours jumping between OBS and Krita, y'know? Taken a few cues from the good folks around here I follow (and watch, when there's time). Avatar's gonna be in the upper-left, text on the lower left, the big ol' game screen dominating the right, and maybe some goodies below it.

Doing some work on stream stuff. Yes, I'd mentioned Terraria, but I got out of work late and we are currently in "What can Dad do while the kid blasts KPDH" mode. So... depending on what I can accomplish... new visuals next time?

Little more Terraria in a while. Depends when I can sneak out of work. We'll see if we can put together a few more rooms for NPCs and explore a bit.

Due to the "Minnesota Nice" trait, it wouldn't be very in-character of me to wish harm on anyone in particular. I could, however, sarcastically hope that no one unfamiliar with our winter weather tries to cross a thinly-frozen lake in a pickup loaded with weapons to investigate some fishing shacks.

Day X: Favorite Job/Class Blue Mages, and similar things like the Enemy Skill materia, are a guilty pleasure of mine. I LOVE characters that can get access to non-standard spells or abilities that are slightly more powerful (or flashy) than the "regular" alternatives.

We may not have AC on our little Switch here, but it's great seeing so many people excited for the update! I'll never not be happy to hear about friends enjoying games.

Started up #Terraria earlier. Fresh world (Classic), fresh character. Found the Crimson pretty quickly. Died pretty quickly after that, too. Then I realized the Graveyard biome is a thing. So I didn't feel so bad... and actually went out of my way to die 8 more times for more headstones.

Day IX: Favorite Battle System ATB. I want my fast characters getting multiple turns, being able to rez/heal/buff/cast and run circles around enemies. I liked the grid on FFT games, but *every* turn became "get behind X before you attack" or "put your back to something." ...Blade Grasp helped.

Yikes. 44°F in January. Should be a negative sign in front of that.

Minor SNAFU with the MC launcher, it seems. We'll tinker with it and, if it doesn't improve, there are plenty of other games to play for a while.

Well, that one ended well didn't it? Diving back for more in 20ish minutes. We'll make the journey back to our little sandy outpost and maybe lay the groundwork for a new house.

Day VIII: Favorite Cutscene The entire ending sequence of FFVI. The book. The cast credits. The scenes with everyone. Cannot begin to do it justice.

Day VII: Favorite Job System Oh. My. God. I loved Dresspheres. Mid-combat job changes? Yes, please! Even if we totally overlook the mildly risqué Sailor Moon style transformations (which my young brain certainly did NOT), having a bevy of classes available at the drop of a hat was phenomenal.

Day 6: Worst NPC The one blocking the way. You know it. I know it. We ALL know it. They pause in your path just long enough to keep you from getting to the door. Or the chest. Or the shopkeeper. And they LINGER. Suddenly their "move every 1.4 seconds" coding STOPS for 8 minutes.

Day 5: Favorite Villain Minimal plot aside, the big villain reveal at the end of FF1 was pretty cool. However, when I first played VI, I was pretty much clueless to spoilers and such, so Kefka's move from Gestahl's right-hand lunatic to God of Ruin was kinda awesome. He beat the heroes.

Alrighty! Let's catch up on this, hmm? Day 4: Favorite Protagonist FF IV - Cecil I enjoyed the "Following orders, breaking away, rebirth, hero" progression. Sure, Terra and Celes had a bit of that in VI, but I felt like there was more growth for Cecil from sacrifices and revelations in the plot.

Slightly diminish a game Duke Nukem For a While

Calm start to this Sunday. Hope everyone is doing well, staying safe, and finding ways to enjoy themselves today. Had a little cuddlebug wake me up so he could properly fall asleep after some pets.

Hey. I try to keep things kinda light around here, so I won't go too deep into it, but, as you're probably aware, things have been going sideways in the Twin Cities (and everywhere else). Kinda just hanging in there and keeping the fam safe. I'll be around when I'm around.

Day 3: Worst Final Fantasy I did not care for Final Fantasy II. I played and completed it as the GBA remake, but I was not a fan of the way that character growth happened. Weapon skills and magic levels? Sure, that was fine. It reminded me of Secret of Mana and was impressive for the NES title.

Day 2: Favorite Final Fantasy Final Fantasy VI, or as we called it, Final Fantasy III, which was the style at the time. I spent all kinds of odd hours on it, and actually played it before getting around to II/IV, which made for an awkward step backwards later on with Cecil's adventure.
