George Springer spoke after the game about his confidence in the #BlueJays: “Our team understands who we are. We understand who we are offensively. Obviously, this is not the best stretch at the best time, but it doesn’t matter. Everything is still right in front of us.”

John Schneider says that everyone wants to get the big hit right now, but the #BlueJays play their best baseball when that’s not the mindset. “We’ve got to have better at-bats. We will.”

The #BlueJays are keeping a four-man rotation for now and using Monday’s off day. Later next week, they’ll figure out the rest. Berríos and Lauer remain in the bullpen with Bassitt on the IL. Trey Yesavage’s starts just became even more important.

We just spoke with José Berríos about his move to the bullpen. “I don’t feel happy to talk about it. Putting that aside, I put my team first. I was able to be out there to help my team.” Berríos said the right things, as you’d expect, but his frustration was clear. #BlueJays

The #BlueJays enter today with a 3.0-game lead in the AL East (plus the tiebreaker over New York). The postseason clinch is just a (delayed) formality at this point and has been for a while. Clinching the division with a couple extra days to exhale is what really matters now.

John Schneider on Vladdy's at-bat in the 7th and the #BlueJays' offence: “I think he kind of just gave that at-bat away against Kelly. Vlad is one swing away. He’s one swing away basically all the time ... We let things snowball here a little bit the last two days."

John Schneider saw this home run right after the #BlueJays game. “He took his time,” Schneider joked. He checked in, just in case, and Santander is fine. For now, he thinks Santander will stay with Buffalo through the weekend, but he’ll speak with him shortly.
