A new species of Gaillardiellus Guinot, 1976 (Crustacea, Brachyura, Xanthidae) from the coral reefs of the South China Sea zookeys.pensoft.net/articles.php... Authors named the species "magiruber sp.nov." in the description but they called as "magicianiruber sp.nov." in Fig.8. 🦀

宮古市魚市場で「ケガニ祭り」が開催されました。 "Kegani (= Erimacrus isenbeckii) Festival" was held at Miyako, Iwate Prefecture.

岩手県宮古市で行なわれる「ケガニまつり」のプレイベントが25日に浄土ヶ浜レストハウスで開催されました。ケガニの販売はもちろん、一本釣りなどの体験イベントもありました。 Kegani (Erimacrus isenbecki) is one of the most popular edible crab species in Japan. Today, pre-event of Kegani Festival was held at Miyako, Iwate Prefecture. 🦀

コイチョウガニ Glebocarcinus amphioetus (Rathbun, 1898) 大槌湾 (Otsuchi Bay, NE Japan) では沿岸岩礁域の様々な環境で見つかる。小型個体は紅藻群落内で見つかることが多いが、大型個体は海藻群落からそう遠くない転石帯や貝溜まりに出現する。おそらく小規模な成長に伴う生息場変化 (ontogenetic habitat shift from agar community to boulder zones and/or sandy bottom mixed with shell fragments) を行うと考えられる。 🙂 on 🦀

ヨツハモガニ Pugettia quadridens (De Haan, 1837) オオヨツハモガニは本種と間違えられてきた。2019年の新種記載論文では、三陸地方にヨツハモガニは分布しないことになっており、2021年にヨツハモガニの大槌湾での初記録、すなわちにおける分布北限の更新を報じた論文では「偶発的な出現」との見解を示した。しかし、その認識は改めなければならない。 この５年間のあいだ毎年1-3月に、大槌湾の複数の地点において、本種とオオヨツハモガニとの同所的出現が確認されている。先日の調査では30分の探索のあいだに採集された33個体のモガニ類のうち、4個体がヨツハモガニであった。

テナガホンヤドカリ Pagurus middendorffii Brandt, 1851 大槌湾では珍しい種ではないが、これまでに記録はない。大槌湾の海藻藻場に出現するヤドカリのなかでは、少し探すのにコツのいる種。海藻藻場が枯れた秋頃から少しずつ見かけるようになり、冬季に絶壁に近い岩礁斜面や、岩礁の頂上部で、海藻の根元を丁寧に見てまわると大型の個体を見つけることができる。小型個体は転石帯にも現れる。潮通しの良い係船場にも生息しており、カニかご（特採あり）で容易に採集できる。 右鉗脚が著しく大きいため、基本的に宿貝に引っ込むことはない。襲われると突き出した鉗脚を自切して逃走することもある。

普通に分布しているだろうけど記録がない生き物というのが岩手には山ほどいます。 研究の世界では、稀種と普通種の分布に関する情報の、網羅され具合が逆転することがあります。珍しすぎて、採集したら必ず報告を出したくなるような種がいる一方で、いつでも採れるような種の分布記録は後回し（というかやらない）になり、結果として専門家の感覚と実際に記録のある範囲にギャップができます。 普通すぎて誰も報告していない。報告に値する新規性が見つからない（実際にはあるけど） 報告する人がいない。岩手県はこのケース。県土に対して自然史系博物館も水族館は数えるほどしかなく、十分な研究機能のある施設はさらに少ないです。

今年の三陸の海はあったかい。1月でも水温が14°cあり 12月からほとんど下がっていなかった。このまま全然下がらないのかな と思ったら急激に9度まで落ちた。ソラスズメダイも見かけなくなった。
