Old Shambles Tavern, York. Just a half cos I visited last in 2017! Empty upstairs room splendid isolation, tourist guff downstairs. Own themed beer, not quite the quality of last two pubs but good enough. Barman contradicts bus boy views on weather.

Brewhemian Hopsody, Fulford, York. Worst or best name ever! Actually, beats the likes of ‘Pub’, Cask’ and ‘Keg n Kitchen 32’. Boring breezy cafe micro. Fierce drinks quality. Nice landlady with dodgy card reader prefers Vault City to Irn Bru.

Winning Post, York. Puked here in ‘97 on diet of Bailey’s and Fosters. Watched gig on Guinness more recently (2010?) Nice to appreciate it today as a proper pub, great windows n quality Full Circle. Perky Scot barmaid. Gerrit in tha GBG!

Pub 3455, Stingray, Harwich. More brutal realism from this classic pub town. Smells of ghost trains and library books. Carpet 7.5. Archetypal drunk Scot at bar. Scruffy Mild is apt n amazing. Brittney Oops I did it Again feels like the unofficial pub anthem.

Pub 3454, Alma Inn, Harwich. Disturbingly real backstreeter with salty seadogs n staff who like a good occasional Essex scream. Beer tastes Belgian sour but is Notts pale. Recent run of BJ in every pub continues (Billy Joel I mean, it ain’t THAT friendly).

Pub 3453, Gin n Brews, Garstang. I’ve been to this town before and people are tiny bit dysfunctional, but the queuers know what they want (beer in cans) , so do the party girls and the bloke with the big tummy. Eurovision seems a way off.

Pub 3452, Beer Hall, Galgate. The Cake beer drank like pudding battery acid. Cute upstairs bar with a solid bloke and Dad moved the car so he took his time but his OJ was a steady solid 8/10. Direct quote.

Preemptive Gregson’s, Lancaster. Colourful knitted community club full of cake Mummy’s and kids with pizza n rice around their mush. Reminds me of that thing in outer Cardiff. Chapter Arse? Dad stayed in car. Which is pubbier than this.

Pub 3351, Greyhound, Halton. Crazy slow service but it is warm, the pub feels rejuvenated in a traditional style and the White Cat by Moorhouse’s drinks like White Rat, which is funny cos there’s two Ossets on too.

Pub 3350, Old School Brewery, Warton. Lovely done Brewery Tap. The Blackboard drinks chalky (thanks!). ‘Is your owl real?’ What do you think madam?! Small child gets Mum to set up the dominoes #PubChild. Bit chilly, surely they close in winter.

Pub 3449, JJ Crossfield’s, Arnside. Not a bar, a ‘drinks station’. Not allowed to serve myself boo. Great lacings on the Amber. Upholstering 8.5/10. Cute waterfront cafe bar. It only bloody works! 10am opener bonus points.

Pub 3441 Pitcairngreen Inn, Pitcairngreen. The road was closed, two bees got in, the beer was furry, barmaid was a star, old local spent day fixing a front door. Felt a very CAMRA obscure tick, even in Scottish terms.
