One of my favourite things I did with my class was 30-45 minutes a week of Current Affairs. No plan, no agenda, just ask the children what they’d seen in the news. As time went on, they bring things to share they’d seen, or fun facts. Hard in a packed timetable, but it was very valuable.

I have a feeling this next academic year will be different. Less of a battle, less of a struggle, less of feeling under appreciated and more of having an undercurrent of support. Let’s hope so anyway.

I know primary’s get all hung up on SATs results, but I can’t even begin to imagine the pressure of GCSE and A-level results for secondaries.
