The idea of Vote Left, Transfer Left was pretty strongly adhered to in Dublin Central as the count went on. What happened was that the voters didn’t consider SF to be left. The SF candidates big transfer moments came from Steenson and Hutch.

THe interesting thing about vote left, transfer left is that these byelections show Sinn Féin are now at the back of the line for those transfers. It's almost as if their flirting with right wing anti immigration rhetoric isn't doing them any favours.
