I feel like this is the turning point for Criterion where they are becoming "too big for their britches" and are trying to over-deliver. Physical media is on life support because it costs so much now, I have drastically slowed down on collecting films and records in recent years because of it.

at least I can boast that I am more successful career-wise than either of my parents ever were, so there's that.

last year I wrote a letter to my father to open up about my life and let him know how much pain I lived through in my youth, talked about my suicide attempt, my diagnoses from my ASD assessment from a few years back, and my ongoing struggles with depression.

I constantly have memories pop up of my mother criticizing me for things when I was younger and into my early adult years. these are the memories that I have, nothing positive ever comes to mind, just bad or critical stuff.

I have 100 pages left in Dexter #3. I'm trying to finish it quickly, not because I'm not enjoying it, I'm just too excited to pick out one of the 30 new books from my birthday weekend to start. anyway I should be starting a new book tomorrow, just not sure which one

after the last few late arrivals get here I'll have to stop buying books for a while and actually start reading what I've got 😅

how is it that I was awake past 1am last night and this morning I felt more rested than I do when I "try" to fall asleep around 10-1030pm? I still didn't want to get out of bed this morning but it wasn't as hard to get up as usual. I had really fucked up dreams too

oh last night I started reading Carl's Doomsday Scenario (Dungeon Crawler Carl book 2) and got 74 pages in. I hope to finish it in a day or two so I can get a few more paperbacks in this month since Monte Cristo took up SO MUCH of my reading time last month (ie: all of it)

big stack of ALIEN paperbacks coming today, pretty excited. there are so many books written in the ALIEN / ALIENS universe, I might have to get more if these ones are good

I miss having friends. I don't mean that I don't currently have "friends" but I mean the type that we share an open door policy, or it's assumed that we're gonna hang out most weekends, or you show up with beer and food to cook no questions asked, or knowing you have somewhere to stay if it's late
