How does it rain when it's < 20°? This morning, there was a band of frz.driz. & rain that moved through #Wisconsin. Cold air is very "heavy" & shallow, but with very warm air above it, some of the precipitation doesn't have enough time to freeze before hitting the ground.

First Alert Extended Outlook - week of Christmas and beyond. Slightly above normal temps are expected at times throughout the last week of the year. That does NOT mean we're going to see a bunch of snow melt & a heat wave.. just points to an end of the #Arctic air after this weekend at this time.

I have kept an "unofficial" record of the #Marathon County #Snowmobile Trails open/close dates since the late 90s With the trails open NOW, this is the earliest they have opening according to my record keeping... The previous earliest date was December 18, 2000.

Just how cold has it been in #Wausau this month? Temps are almost -15° below normal through the middle of December so far.... If you're not a fan of the "deep freeze" 🥶, I have good news for you, as temps will climb back into the upper 20s & lower 30s at times this week.
