Yesterday I had the distinct honor of playing tenor horn with The 8th Green Machine Regiment Band at Fort Ward. Always great to honor and educate with the brass band music of the Civil War with these fine musicians and educators!

There it is- the end of an era. 13 years teaching middle school band (9 in Colorado, 2 in Oregon, and 2 in FCPS here in Virginia). Hundreds of band students from all walks of life, from K-12 in Cheyenne Wells with 86 students in the entire district, to my huge beginning bands of 186 in Tillamook.
