Out for my Sunday walk before it gets too hot if anyone would like to tag along. Around Grange Moor and Flockton today, although shorts, long grass and nettles could be a recipe for disaster.

After zero sleep last night, I genuinely meant to be in bed by 22:00 today. Sidecar. Brandy, Cointreau and lemon juice. Shaken with ice and served with a lemon twist, and traditionally on a Bathams beer mat.

Family members coming round shortly for BBQ and drinks. I expect I’ll be required to serve mojitos.

I’ve mowed what little lawn we have before it gets too hot, and that could be the extent of my physical exertions today.

Mum has finally gone and I’m home. This feels like a fitting end to a very long day.

Nine hours at the hospice today watching Mother Spencer attempt to shuffle off the mortal coil, but still it goes on. Here she is looking slightly better than she does today, although to be fair I haven’t aged all that well either. I could smash a beer right now.

You know how my family ALWAYS has shit weather when we go on holiday? Well, we were supposed to be away next week but we can no longer go (because reasons) and this is the forecast. Also it’s too late for a refund so I’m a grand out of pocket. FML

I’ve never had to drive this high up the multi-storey car park in Wakey before, but I have to say that it does give an excellent view over the prison.

I have a minor medical issue, but one requiring attention. The pharmacy said I need to see a doc. My GP’s AI triage says I need to see a doc, but not them because they have no appointments. The NHS walk-in was like a scene from a disaster movie so I’m going to take my chances. If I die, etc…

Looking back towards Emley Moor and where I’ve come from. The next part of my journey takes me down our local dogging lane, so I’ll be walking as fast as possible, keeping my eyes down, and certainly not be stopping to take pictures.

I miss the days when I could walk through here for free and stop for coffee and cake in the caff. Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

End of the walk. It’s also worth noting that the previous posts were not made in real time. The first third of my walk had no phone signal and the final third was in torrential rain. Just in case anyone knows the area and is thinking that I walk at a very strange pace.
