One of our most beautiful new watches for 2025: the Senator Excellence Panorama Date Moon Phase. Its shimmering dial in the shade ‘Frosted Silver’ is inspired by the rich mineral resources of the region around Glashütte, the finely grained surface structure gives it a ‘frosty’ finish.

𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲 is a sophisticated decorative cut that has a long tradition in Glashütte watchmaking. Its even curves convey opulence, applied with great care and precision. Pearl-shaped circular cuts are applied with a rotating rubber pin, which contains diamond dust, and a great deal of dexterity.

In music, articulating a melody adds character. In watchmaking, we take a similar approach. 𝗕𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 even serves another purpose. Accurate bevelling of the edges at a perfect 45 degree angle thickens the material and makes it more resistant to external influences - improving movement longevity.

Even we as a watch manufacturer cannot change the duration of hours, minutes and seconds, but our watchmaking and design teams are always innovating. The PanoLunarInverse, for example, has an inverse movement construction, while the moon phase display is creatively reinterpreted in this wrist watch.

When inner and outer beauty go hand in hand, resistance is futile. Our PanoMaticCalendar shows how: with its skeletonised, blue-coated, an elaborately finished manufactory calibre with annual calendar function and a transparent case back, this wristwatch offers exciting insights from all angles.

It is always worthwhile to view things from a different perspective. This also applies to our new PanoLunarTourbillon: its rose-coloured dial shimmers in the shade ‘Iron Ore’. The crystalline structure of the surface ensures that the colour varies depending on the incidence of light.

There may be people for whom a wristwatch serves solely to tell the time. However, none of them work at Glashütte Original. Because we know from our own experience how many emotions our timepieces evoke and how much love and care is devoted to each individual component.

Thanks to its clear, simple design, the displays on our Senator Chronometer are particularly easy and intuitive to read. The dark blue of its dial further enhances this impression of clarity and focus, making this timepiece a stylish calming influence in everyday life.

Our Senator Chronometer is the descendant of the famous Glashütte marine chronometers that were once used for navigating the world's seas and oceans. It has inherited the particularly easy-to-read dial design and certified precision from them. Its colours are also inspired by them.

Manual work plays a central role in all of our movements, but nowhere does the dexterity of our fingers leave such graceful shapes as in 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴. Without templates, our engravers refine components with filigree patterns inspired by the great Glashütte watchmaking tradition.

The Glashütte 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 has a real cult status with us. The fine, regular ornamental cut is a hallmark of Glashütte watchmaking since the early days. It is meticulously applied to the gear train bridge and automatic winding rotor, giving them an elegant finish and visual depth.

Our Senator Chronometer Tourbillon combines one of the most complex complications in the watchmaking, the Flying Tourbillon, and an innovative, patented flyback mechanism for precise time setting. A timepiece of the highest originality with the pinnacle of precision: the chronometer certification.

The art of porcelain was perfected in China over a thousand years ago. In tribute to this, a model was created for the 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻 Edition in which the "Mystic Maison" decoration from MEISSEN stands out against a celadon green background.

A watch from Glashütte Original is always something special. But what if you could design, refine and assemble your own timepiece here? Such a masterpiece would undoubtedly be in a class of its own. And the talented graduates of Glashütte Original‘s watchmaking school can tell you all about it!

Every single timepiece that leaves our manufactory is a collaborative effort. Creative minds conceived it, skilled hands brought it to life, and trained eyes examined it. Numerous people shape Glashütte Original watches with their talent, passion and experience.

We are proud that our former student Jakob Zimmermann has been recognised for his exceptional examination results. He was not only the best in his local community, but also the best young watchmaking graduate in the entire state of Saxony. Congratulations, Jakob!

Glashütte Original was founded to revive the Glashütte watchmaking tradition. The engineers developed extraordinary complications, incl. the PanoRetroGraph. It was the first chronograph with a countdown timer. Numerous masterpieces followed, such as the Senator Diary and the Senator Rattrapante.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, VEB Glashütter Uhrenbetriebe was to be privatised. However, only 72 employees out of circa 3,000 could be kept. But they were eager to continue Glashütte watchmaking. In 2000, the company joined the Swatch Group, which opened up new international opportunities.

An opulent - and extremely rare - riot of colour: only eight of this artistic model from the 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻 edition will be produced. Its exquisite porcelain dial is adorned with a collage that quotes motifs from the MEISSEN "Dekorwelten" crater vase.

Each 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻 timepiece is a work of art. The white porcelain dial is elegantly decorated with the rocaille elements of the "Mystic Maison" decoration by MEISSEN in grey. Behind its dial, ticks an equally elaborately hand-finished automatic calibre with a 100-hour running time.

Glashütte Original has created an aventurine dial for a watch for the first time: PanoMaticLunar Anniversary Edition. The deep blue material was developed by Venetian glassmakers in the 18th century and named after the Italian word for 'a ventura' (by chance), referring to its accidental creation.

Screwed 𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻𝘀 are a traditional feature of Glashütte watchmaking. These small gold rings or inlays hold rubies and are held in place by tiny blued screws. In the past, they were used to equalise the sizes of natural rubies and make it easier to replace a bearing jewel.

The 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 has a special place inside a mechanical timepiece. The reason is that it is similar to a "beating heart" of the watch: Together with the escapement system, its oscillations regulate the rate of the watch and the movement of the gear train.

Glashütte watchmaking has evolved over 180 years, honoring traditions and details. The Calibre 92 in our 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is the best example: it's the latest generation of mechanical movements from Glashütte Original and is now being used in a PanoMaticLunar for the first time.

Glashütte Original is honouring 180 years of Glashütte watchmaking with a striking anniversary model: the 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 with sparkling aventurine dial, limited to 180 pieces. Discover our latest original, which embodies the collective experience of 180 years.

The 𝘀𝘄𝗮𝗻-𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 has been used in Glashütte since 1888 to adjust a watch's rate precision. A set screw on the curved swan-neck spring is adjusted for regulation: changing its position changes the effective length of the balance spring, thereby influencing the watch's rate.

The Glashütte three-quarter plate is the basis for many of our watches. This wheel bridge takes up three quarters of the movement's surface and has been used in Glashütte watches since 1864. It ensures stability and allows the movement's parts to interact smoothly.

The skeletonised dial of our new PanoMaticCalendar provides a glimpse into the multi-layered soul of this wristwatch. As an annual calendar, it displays the precise time and date. The month display is also an elegant design element: the respective month number shines out in white.

An explosion of colour that is entirely to our taste! The autumn issue of Revolution Watch USA features our new PanoMaticCalendar and pop artist Michael Moebius. Michael's works are world-renowned. We love his creativity, which we have had the pleasure of experiencing live on numerous occasions.

Our new 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿 is anextraordinary timepiece. The cut-out dial and sapphire crystal case back reveal the mechanical workings inside the watch, which would otherwise remain hidden. To achieve maximum transparency, the blue-coated dial has been generously skeletonised.

Once the dial blank is complete, it is given its individual look. In the very sensitive and time-consuming process of electroplating, metallic material is applied evenly to the surface by electrolysis. When painting, an even layer of colour is applied by hand and then dried in a kiln.

Luxury goods were rare in the GDR, but VEB Glashütter Uhrenbetriebe offered a wide range of products. Between 1951 and 1991, the company developed 4 automatic movements, incl. Calibre 74 (Spezimatic), designed to meet the trend towards very slim watches – and exceeded all expectations.

The art of German engineering is the epitome of excellent quality all over the world. As a result, the mechanical timepieces from Glashütte Original bear their “Made in Germany” seal of origin with pride and embody maximum precision, reliability and durability.

Our Serenade Luna combines maximum Glashütte precision with precious materials and a feminine design. Beneath its graceful forms and slim 32.5 mm diameter, it conceals a real mechanical powerhouse. Its movement Calibre 35 has an automatic winding mechanism and a running time of up to 60 hours.

In the 1920s, watch companies in Glashütte thought that the newly emerging wristwatch was a passing trend. When people became aware of this misjudgement, they had to make up for it. UROFA finally put a concept on the table that secured Glashütte watches a new place at the forefront of their time.

Almost 100 years ago, there was a clear change of era in the watch industry: The triumphant advance of the wristwatch was underway. For a long time, however, Glashütte was sceptical about this trend, but when the challenge was finally accepted, it was done with clear principles and creative ideas.
