This Labour government's cruel welfare cuts will non only punish sick and disabled people, it will make it harder for people to work - including many of the DWP's own staff who rely on PIP to work. @adrianramsay.bsky.social and I spoke in Diane Abbott's vital debate this week.

Under Labour’s welfare cuts, 1.3 million people with cancer, arthritis and other diseases could lose PIP. They could have just made the very wealthiest pay their fair share. What an absolute disgrace that they are choosing to make life harder for disabled people instead.

All of us, whether we’re trans or not, deserve dignity and respect, and the freedom to go about our daily lives without fear of abuse or harassment. Govt has urgent Qs to answer about how it will ensure those rights for trans people - sadly I didn't get those answers yesterday.

Labour ministers are apparently ruling out scrapping the two-child benefit cap - in other words, choosing to keep 600,000 children in poverty. Meanwhile govt refuses to consider a wealth tax which could £24bn. Hard to find the words for this level of unnecessary cruelty.
