A nearby storm took out a few trees near a stream. This was good news for local beavers: we now have eight beavers chowing down each morning. I am now getting up before dawn for our daily beaver patrol. I've seen beavers nearly every day this year: their small crunching sounds are great.

We'd been on such a beautiful upward tick in the country: it's disappointing to see such a drastic downward slide upcoming. Hopefully the veneer wears thin quickly and we can get things moving forward again in 2026/2028.
