Four years ago my mum signed her DNR form, because of COVID restrictions I couldn't be there. She called afterwards thinking the nurses must think she was going to die soon, and that she didn't want to die alone in the hospital. She held until January and died in her own home. I miss her everyday.

#Silksong reminds me so much of Dark Souls 2, in that the developers took all the wrong lessons from the first game and made them worse. Mob rooms, off screen projectiles, and frustrating runbacks galore. They focused on making it artificially hard and not enough making it challenging...or fun!

"Git Gud" has ruined any possible discourse over hard games. I'm enjoying #Silksong, to an extent, but the early game is a slog. Enemies are far too tanky, do far too much damage and everything costs money which you lose when you die so you can't even save your progress at times.
