I think I'm finally done with this little Godot project. A lot of band aid code near the end just to get it all done but "perfect is the enemy of good" as they say.

Spent the whole day fixing parallax issues and setting up the title screen to this project. I'm almost done with everything though. I think at this point with Godot, I've gotten to the same level of proficiency I had with Game Maker all those years ago, if not slightly exceeded.

I got a bit too hooked on Dungreed and Rogue Legacy 2 for the past few days but I stormed through them so now I'm finally free to focus on work again. ✨

I tried playing Erenshor and I realize now it might have been a bad idea. It wasn't kidding about the simulated classic MMORPG pitch. It even has simulated lag for other players!

I was handling some green peppers and had to rub under my nose. Now I feel like the lower half of my face is radiating heat. 🔥

So much for upgrading my PC tonight, the motherboard didn't come with the mounting backplate for the CPU fan so I can't mount my stock cooler. I'll just put it back together when the part arrives tomorrow. 🥲

I have my new-ish CPU already and my new-old motherboard is arriving tomorrow. Excited to feel the change in power once I put it all together. I suppose if I have any other upgrades left to make, it'd just be an Elgato Streamdeck for productivity and future streaming purposes. 💧

Found out that the reason I was getting input lag when the Steamdeck was docked to the TV was due to LG TV's needing to be in Game mode. Now I can play on a bigger screen if I want, though it'll probably be a rare occurrence.

Godot Diary: Managed to get the character movement follow the 2:1 isometric perspective and it was as simple as setting the input vector of x and y to be 2 and 1 respectively. But now I am reminded why stairs are such a pain.

I forgot to upload this here, it's a wip of a level design for a simulated videogame of a vtuber's stream scene. Currently pixeling it all in but I did take a few minutes to see if I can code the movement in Godot instead of prepping this for Animate and I'm happy to say I was successful! ✨
