Finally exerted the strength of will to play some more QBJ3 levels. 2Bidou72's Das Brut is really fucking good. Some of the way forward got confusing for me, and I wasn't sure if I was sequence breaking or just going down the intended path. Ended up finding a lot of the secrets in this one. Real gud

I started watching Landman on a whim tonight. While the whole American twinge to it borders on being caricature, I ended up enjoying a lot of it. Billy Bob Thornton might not be acting a lot in terms of sheer volume, but he's absolutely selling his character as always.

Did some writing on the next chapter of FON today. I intentionally want to keep it rather short, since most of the "main" chapters have been 15-20 pages each. I'm also - possibly unwisely - trying to have some more levity in it. Not necessarily jokes, but not all doom and gloom as it has been lately

I just got away with the greatest ruse: I handed my lil' sis a pair of headphones playing Somewhat Damaged by NIN, but because it is The Fragile, tracks flow into each other and she got half-way through Even Deeper before she got wise. Now a page of her homework has "NIN - The Fragile" written on it

Made tonkatsu today for the first time. I even made the breading myself, due to the sheer absence of panko bread crumbs, which I am led to believe are fundamental and change everything. I'll have you know I achieved a double fry crispness that makes Kimigayo sound loudly in the distance.

Yesterday, I found out that the band OhGr is actually Nivek Ogre from Skinny Puppy and I've been listening to the two separately for years without ever making the connection.

Bruce Campbell is the person least deserving of a cancer diagnosis. It's honestly terrible to hear. Here's hoping he kicks that shit's ass so hard other people nearby go into remission as well.

Just beat the Director's Cut version of the original Resident Evil. That last section is honestly a bitch. The whole thing is definitely easier with the re-implementation of auto-aim. Though honestly I don't think I'm a fan of RE1. It's a whole lot of struggle for very little payoff.

I played a little bit of the RE2 remake tonight. While I was engrossed for the better part of 2-3 hours, I felt a little bit disgusting not just playing the PSX version. That and I once again confirmed that I startle too easily. Survival horror is just not my thing.

I reckoned it was time to give Dark Souls III a shot. I haven't gotten even a fifth of the way through, and I can already see how much backpedalling was done to undo a lot of Dark Soul II and return to what everyone but me liked.

I just started playing---mostly watching---that new hit video game Dispatch. It's pretty damn phenomenal! The writing is really good, in my books. What really sells it is the largely talented voice cast. A lot of recognisable names (and voices) on there. Feels exactly like a proper TV show.

I decided that the next book I'm going to read is The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life by Erving Goffman. I am only a fifth of the way through, and I think this book is genuinely vile - borderline harmful to society and an affront to human nature.

Just sent out the new FON chapter to a trusted few. Gonna keep looking at it for about a week. Expected release is the 14th. Cover art has been completely changed.
