Went for a wander before this morning's meeting near Basildon.

Tonight's #BskyBeer will be drunk with a friend. His husband and my wife will be on the wine. Beers from @thornbridge.bsky.social , a Sureshot/Vocation collab, Deya, Basqueland, Vault City, and Green Jack.

Sunday #BskyBeer courtesy of Bruha in The Alma, Harwich. This is by far my favourite from Bruha, their "Niksun Pale". Quite light up front, with a bit of citrus and apple, and a traditional bitter finish.

Final #BskyBeer of the evening is "DDH Halcyon" from @thornbridge.bsky.social . I've just decided that this would go very well with blue cheese.

I'm watching "Running Man" which features Mick Fleetwood. Fleetwood Mac did "Rattlesnake Shake" during the Peter Green era. And now, as if by magic, I'm drinking "Rattlesnake" West Coast IPA from @thornbridge.bsky.social . Serendipity or awkwardly contrived coincidence for my latest #BskyBeer !

First #BskyBeer via @thornbridge.bsky.social and @oakhamales.bsky.social . "American Pale" from The Union. Another great collaboration, once again benefitting from The Union kit which always adds a rounded smoothness. Lovely drop, making me think of Belgian beers almost as much as American pales.

Next (and last- early start tomorrow) is from Double-Barrelled. "Parka" hazy pale, selected primarily because it was a lower ABV than most of the others on the shelf. This is good, and makes me want to dive deeper into the brewery.

#BskyBeer this evening courtesy of Vocation, "Incognito" double IPA. 7.6%, so another heavy hitter. Normal Vocation quality, so an enjoyable beer. Soft, syrupy up front- a bit like fruit cocktail syrup. Bitter finish.

This #BskyBeer from Brooklyn is even boozier. "Butterfly Photobomb" is a decent DIPA with a thick-cut marmalade finish. Not much to separate from other 8.4% DIPAs, but a good beer.

Friday #BskyBeer from Brooklyn Brewery, "Sorachi Ace" saison ale at a buttock-thwacking 7.2%. It has the funkiness you'd expect, a bit of white pepper, and then a kind of boozy green apple/ mango finish. Tesco 4 for 3 offer. Really good.

Mighty Oak are a great local brewery. Their "Arcadian Amber" is a really decent pint, reminds me a bit of "Nut Bastard" which I had in cans during lockdown. #BskyBeer

Next up (and the only one I've not had before) is "Jungle Juice" from Vault City. I knew from the art it would be like Um Bongo, and as ever with Vault City they've absolutely crushed it. Awesome stuff. #BskyBeer

The limited range in my local supermarket does have one positive: it features a few @northernmonk.bsky.social classics such as "Heathen". #BskyBeer

Sticking with the dark stuff, a pint of Paladin stout. Creamy, with toasty notes. Best stout I've had in a pub for ages.

Cracking afternoon at @thornbridge.bsky.social Experience. Great to learn about Thornbridge from Reuben. Spent a couple of hours in the company of some lovely fellow punters. The ambience of the taproom was spot on as well. Obviously the beer was great. Sue particularly liked Green Mountain.

In @thornbridge.bsky.social Tap, drinking a pint of Witching Hour- a dunkel, collab with Black Iris. In half an hour we'll be doing the Thornbridge Experience! (See if I can get Mrs P to drink beer!)

When I was 14, I used to drink Theakston's in The George, Kirkham. Now, at the age of 51, a cracking pint of Theakston's Best in The George, Youlgreave/ Youlgrave (depending where it's written). #BskyBeer

It's @thornbridge.bsky.social subscription delivery week, so another great beer to savour. I actually identified a hop- Simcoe - as soon as I took a sip. "Bliss Point" hazy American IPA is an indulgent treat. So much going on with 4 different hops playing well together. #BskyBeer

The last of my 360° stash, a Mango and Jasmine sour. This is really good with the jasmine adding a slightly flowery, slightly herbal finish without being overpowering. #BskyBeer

A couple of brews from 360° this evening. I definitely prefer the juiciness of "Interlude", although fans of westies or more traditional IPAs might go for "Brighton" #BskyBeer

Next for the evening, "All I Want is Summer" hazy IPA from 360°. Hints of green apples to finish.

First #Stouturday for a while. Chocolate, coffee and a slight hint of coconut. Really morish, and at a sessionable strength. "Back to Black" stout, from 360°. #BskyBeer

Next from the Asda Collab Collection is by SALT. Another Double IPA, and definitely tonight's coup de grace. Really pleasant, and after this morning's half marathon I'm counting it as electrolytes. #BskyBeer

Next this evening is "Sussex Haze" from 360°. Slightly funky, orange peel/ marmalade. Nice. #BskyBeer

Popped into Asda with low beer expectations, but happened across their "collab collection". This West Coast Double IPA from Harbour is a decent drop, taking me back to the days of buying a hell of a lot of Harbour brews. Good stuff at 8%. #BskyBeer

A couple of beers from 360° brewery. The first I've tried from them. "Sussex Blonde" has a very traditional feel and flavour. "Hold Me Closer" is more punchy, with a tropical nose and a slightly plummy finish. #BskyBeer

Went somewhere cool for work today.

At a corporate thing with Mrs P's employer. Surprisingly pleasant when you get past the hoodoo. Free beer, and this is pretty decent on tap. "Alpacalypse" from SALT. #BskyBeer

I'm loving The Union beers, the body and mouth feel takes me back to drinking decent pints back in the day. Top work. Again, I'm pleased I added a couple extra to top up my subscription. #BskyBeer

Popped to Ipswich for a family trip to see the latest Jurassic film. Stopped in the Briarbank tap room for a couple. One of theirs, "Cobnut", and an Ampersand Maris Otter lager. Both superb. A lovely pub if you find yourself in Ipswich.

A change of direction, part of Woodforde's New World Brewing range, their "Hazy IPA". Perfect summer drink, wonderfully refreshing. #BskyBeer

Mrs P is out for the day, so... A pint of Woodforde's "Nog" dark ale. Nice roasted flavours, with a fresh finish. Quality. #BskyBeer

There's a Woodforde's takeover in my local. Next up is Reedlighter. More of a bitter, with a slight roasted finish.

After yesterday's ultra marathon shenanigans, a pint of Woodforde's Volt American IPA. Starts like a traditional bitter, but has a lovely stone fruit finish.

I've called time on the HARP 24. Temperatures in the low 30s at times. Knee playing up. Time for bed! Beer tomorrow methinks!

The schoolboy in me is disappointed that my race number for tomorrow isn't 69. 😭

This is the last beer I'll be drinking before Saturday/ Sunday's 24 hour "run" in aid of HARP, a homeless charity. I feel incredibly under-prepared, particularly for the heat. @thornbridge.bsky.social Hazy Jaipur. Excellent as ever. I'll be stocking up the fridge for when I get back!

As it's apparently not convenient, we've not managed to head to the pub. Because it was my birthday earlier this month, those lovely folk at @thornbridge.bsky.social chucked a free 4-pack of Jaipur in my subscription box. To top it all, Mrs P has got me the "Thornbridge Experience" brewery visit in August as a present.

@thornbridge.bsky.social have gone Jaipur crazy this month. This Collab with @northernmonk.bsky.social brings their respective signature beers together. Works really well with a huge orange-peel hit, tropical flavours, and a dry finish. #BskyBeer
